Wellbutrin Bupropion Hair Loss and Tender Scalp Side Effect?

I’m a 22 year old female and I’ve been on wellbutrin (the generic) since August 2011. I started noticing hair loss around November but kind of disregarded it as being from “stress” according to my doctor. Whatever. I’ve been stressed my whole life, especially while in college, and have never experienced anything to this extent. It’s gradually gotten worse and worse to the point where my stomach churns at the thought of having to take a shower (where clumps of hair fall out). I have never had hair loss like this in my life, and at my age it is obviously not normal. My Mom and Grandma both have overly-full heads of hair. I stopped this medication after tapering a bit for 10 days or so, and am praying that my hair stops falling out. I have been off the drug for almost 2 weeks now and haven't really noticed a difference in my hair loss. I have had recent bloodwork done and my thyroid is fine. I take a daily multivitamin, biotin, a hair/nails/skin supplement, and a liquid iron supplement for my SLIGHT anemia (nothing that should cause hair loss to this extent). I am beside myself at this point and desperate for help. Can anyone share their story with me? If you lost hair on wellbutrin, how long did it take for you to notice that the shedding wasn't as bad? I can live with thin hair, I just can't live with being bald. I am furious at wellbutrin and think it’s awful that this seems to be such a prevalent side effect for women. Please help.
