Diabetes, a Kidney Infection, Levaquin, and Loads of Pain
Im going to post about a kidney infection. Im 18 years old, a diabetic, and I've had a kidney infection twice. the first time i was in huge amounts of pain, and my fevers would spike up to 103. because Im a diabetic the infection caused me to go into DKA which is serious for a diabetic. i was hospitalized for a week. not a fun time at all. the pain medication they gave me(morphine) felt like it only last 10 mins. by the time i got out they gave me the antibiotic levaquin, and just 10 pills of oxycodone. the antibiotics worked beautifully. the only problem was, is that at night i was paranoid that someone was going to get me. that IS a side effect. i would of taken any antibiotic if it meant this terrible infection would go away. ... more »

then the second infection came around a few months later. luckily since i got to it early i wasn't hospitalized. but before my back pain started, my stomach felt like it was a balloon. has anyone else felt this with a kidney/ UTI infection? its such a terrible feeling! Im on the levaquin again, and the doctor only gave me baby pain killers. this pain is the worst i cried several times from it. a man would cry from this pain.
