SMZ-TMP DS Rare Side Effect, Smz, Two Dogs, Rear Leg, Rimadyl
My dog had an allergic reaction to a new dog food.
The allergist ordered Primor which she had taken before.
The vet's office locally was out of Primor and subsituted SMZ-TMP to help her skin heal from the allergic reaction.
Eight days later she became unwilling to put her rear leg on the floor.

I went home to research the safety of these two dogs being taken together.
In researching, I discovered a rare side effect includes:
join inflammation (arthritis) resulting in lameness
OMG - I could not believe it!!
I immediately STOPPED THE DRUG and am praying when it leaves her system, her walking will return to normal.
