Its been 5 days now since I gave my 9 year old son a singulair tablet after taking the drug for over 3 years and not knowing (until discovering all these sites) that this has possibly been the cause of his behavioral problems for years. Although it is a relief to know his behavior may be as a side effect of this drug and not part of him I am still angry that he has taken this drug for so long, had to suffer (as we all have as result) with depression, aggressive behavior, negative thoughts to name a few I am extremely angry the medical profession have basically ignored all my pleas and concerns about his behavior and never once mentioned it may be as a result of this tablet he has been taking daily. After 5 days he seems lighter in mood, has not mentioned once that he is stupid or his life is boring, has not flown into an unstoppable rage or cried and sat rocking himself not knowing or understanding what he is doing and being unable to explain to us how he feels. He is not as tired, is sleeping in longer in the mornings (rather than waking at 6am tired, groggy and moody with absolutely no energy or enthusiasm for life. I am hoping my son is eventually returning to us after all these years and am so sad we cannot replace the lost years and all the times he has been scolded or had toys taken from him as a punishment for his "bad" behavior which I now feel is down solely to this drug. I am so glad I found these sites as I dread to think what may have happened in a few times when he starts dealing with puberty and early teenage issues. It is bad enough when you hear your child from the age of 6 to 9 saying he hates life, his life is boring and there is no point. Its been so hard and now I feel there is light at the end of the tunnel!
