I have been taking Singulair for several months now and it has worked for me. I have not had any of the negative side effects. However, if I miss just one night, I am weak and wheezing by the next afternoon. I do not have asthma, only use it for allergies. I also take Zyrtec as needed. I am an otherwise healthy 39 year old female. I am wondering though, is this something I will have to take for the rest of my life? What would happen if I stopped taking it? That is little scary.
Piercesmom - My son started taking Singulair for allergies as well and also did not have asthma. He never wheezed once in his life. After 6 months of being on the medication I took him off because it caused him to have severe anxiety, anger, sadness, and many other problems. Anyway, right after taking him off he began wheezing and now has asthma. I firmly believe that Singulair causes asthma or breathing difficulties. BEWARE!!
