I wanted to post this link just to give some small consolation to our concerns about the lack of awareness THAT DOCTORS HAVE ABOUT SINGULAIR.This is a voluntary online informational site,that doctor's can join. It provides updated information on serious label changes and safety concerns on drugs.Most doctors at this point still get snail mail updates,in the paper shuffle a lot of information gets misplaced.The AMA would like to have all information come in online,eventually.The link is ******
read it and tell me if you think more can be done By the way my pediatricians office does not have online communication.Our life is forever changed because of that ! Information is playing a vital role in this drugs destructive path ,or the lack there of information.Again this is voluntary for the Doctors to sign up .In this modern day of communication how does important information not get where it is the most useful, I ask you?When drugs are making multi billion dollar profits,that would be an educated guess.I am doing another interview with CBS affiliate out of Boston on the 23rd of June,they contacted me.I hope it will reach more people who are still unaware of this drugs serious potential side effects.If any of you parents have some connection to media ,please use it to your best advantage to get this very important information out to the publicAlso so many of you ask how to help.Contact your local Senators and keep bothering them to reach out to the FDA to expedite this investigation. Make a pain in the butt out of yourself and be persistent.I will try to make reference to this site so your stories are heard. Dave and I are coming up on a year since our son passed on to our lord [so please pray for us we do need the strength].Still fighting Kate and Dave M.

Concernedcitizen - Maybe they need to make a change in how they get information???? The website says that the request for notification to doctors comes from the manufacturer of the drug and not the FDA.

Flindy - In this day and age of instant communication,one does have to wonder why the important imformation does not get into the right hands,it is definatly a step in the right direction,with a lot more steps needed to go.Although you have been fighting for almost a year you have made huge differences,countless people are on the road of healing due to your efforts,yours alone,not the doctors or big hospitals,but yours,you made a difference in the life of my son,who will turn 15 in september,a difference 3 years of counseling and hospitalations for depression that no other made,your few minutes of words from the heart,i know you have a liftime of grieving ahead of you,but you are always in my thoughts every happy moment my son has is because of your efforts.Go get them Kate

Catherineevans - I can't imagine what would have happened to our granddaughter if you did not bring this out into the open. Your courage in the face of such tragedy has helped us see the dangers of this drug that were so hidden from us. I have written to my Senator for 3 months straight and continue to do so; also, I have been in touch with the FDA and the reporter that first ran your story. Please know that you have helped so many.

Wewe - Kate, I am so sorry for your loss. I am fighting for my Son. Special schools, psychology care. Daily monitering. He was diagnosed with ADHD at an early age. After reading this site and your comments it occured to me that he started having issues when he started the medication. I Never ever thought it could be it. He was on and off it for years through out his adolescence. He got better after discontinuing the medication but now at 15 when hormones are running crazy, the behaviors are back and much much worse. I think this drug has serious and long term if not permanent side effects. Thank you for your fight. They have got to pull this medication off of the market. My Son is in a place we can't reach him. It's dark in there, I don't want anymore children to ever have to go though this. Thank you again. Please let us know if there is any talk of a class action suit. My Son needs more help, who knows how long if not permenently.

Ssoares - Kate - Is there a group of website with information about a class actions suit against Merck or Singulair? Any info would be helpful. Still thinking of you and your son and so many people and children that are on this drug. I took it as an adult and am still affected by it's side effect that I had back in the summer of 2007.
