I have had 5 septocaine injections over the past week for 2 crowns, 3 for all of the drilling last week and 2 yesterday.
I felt VERY dizzy yesterday after the last 2 injections for the final fitting of my 2 new crowns.
I did not tell the dentist. It passed in about an hour. Also, septocaine seems to cause lingering pain at the injection site much more than the novocaine I have had in the past.
My dentist is great and I trust him. He said that whenever an oral injection is given, some bacteria enters the injection site causing the soreness--that makes perfect sense to me as I know the mouth is always full of bacteria. He recommended that I message and work the jaw of the sore area and it will go away. It did and I believe I am OK now, 24 hrs later.
Some people obviously have serious problems with this drug and I pray for comfort for them. I am assuming (a dangerous thing) that most people have no problems with the drug.
