Two days following my 6th Remicade infusion for Rheumatoid Arthritis, small pimples appeared on my scalp and hand. They turned into pus type blisters and over the next 8 weeks (while trying 2 diff prescription topical ointments), I developed a serious rash all over my body, diagnosed as severe psoriasis. The dermatologist said this is a new side effect of Remicade that has been reported over the past year. Now I awaited insurance approval for a new drug Stelarah (sp?) to combat the psoriasis. The doctor said the condition may clear entirely after 2-3 injections, or it may be a chronic problem - no way to tell yet.
Interesting ... he said Stelarah is made by the same drug company that makes Remicade. Are they fixing the problem they created? Hmmm.
