Raynaud's Disease Experience
I'd like to start sharing my experience with RD and hope to learn how other people are handling it.
I used to be able to play in the snow. But in a nice weather, probably with temperature in the 40s F, before sunset, my hands and ears started swelling. For a while after that, I thought I hit some allergen. Then in the winter, it became clear that my skin was allergic to the temperature. When it was really cold, 20's F, in the time the heater started to kick in my car, my hands and face were already swollen and stiff. The doctor told me that the cause was unknown and the best treatment was avoidance. That helped me decide to move from Penn to SoCal. Even in Los Angeles, I enjoy July better than January. My skin, especially on the lower leg, would itch in the winter. Once after I was exposed to some mild cold, 40s, a scar-like patch formed on my leg. The patch of skin remained dark and itchy for months. I have patches that are darker than normal, with clear boundaries, on my face and forehead, which I suspect are from cold injury.
I still can't hold a can of cold drink -- My fingers would get swollen in a few minutes. ... more »

Now I am trying Inositol hexaniacinate, 500 mg dose.
