Piperacillin
Posted over a year ago
what is the use of piperacillin?
Lsbpharmd98 - Piperacillin is an extended-spectrum penicillin-type antibiotic. It is typically reserved for infections where the bateria or causative agent are resistant to traditional penicillins. Namely Pseudomonas, Seratia, and Klebsiella infections, and typically in the hospital. It is marketed under the trade name Zosyn with an additional ingredient, tazobactam (which is a compound that helps fight against bacterial resistance, and I could tell you how but it's long and boring. It has to do with cell walls of bacteria.)
