Sad to say I was put on neurontin for over a year for leg pain caused by damaged nerves from a spinal injury in the L2 spine area. I was on a treatment starting with 2 100 mg. capsules a day, raising to 3 then 4 & up, to the point of becoming incoherent to my surroundings & still having the pain in the upper thighs. It was a terrible experience, I had no quality of life or living. I did stop that treatment. Have gone to many pain clinics only to be given drugs after drugs, MRIs, CT scans, including morphine without any improvement in pain only drug addition. Now, 40 years later, I still have the chronic nerve pain in the upper thighs, more in right side then left, and they came up with Visceral Pain. Today they want to try Visceral Manipulation, hands on treatment of the internal organs. I am now 74 and the pain is worse then ever and that's what they have come up with.
Why can't they just do injections in the nerves that lead to the pain area, put that nerve to sleep, at my age another nerve gone won't change anything except, maybe, eliminate the pain?!
I am Very flustrated in the medical system, I feel it has failed me over & over.
