Seborrheic Dermatitis and Mirena?
I had the Mirena inserted about 3 years ago, after giving birth to my son. I didn't have many side effects at first. My periods stopped, I didn't have any back pain, and my skin didn't break out. I have actually LOST 45 pounds over the past year as a result of diet and exercise. My concern is that I have suddenly developed severely dry and flaky scalp and forehead (sides of nose as well). The skin flakes are a lot like dandruff, and they cause me a great deal of distress. I have switched to Burt's Bees Sensitive Skin line for my face wash, and I use Olay sensitive moisturizer/spf 15 (broad spectrum with zinc) for my face during the day. I have been told that I have Rosacea (the cream that was given burned my face and produced zero results.) I don't believe that I actually have Rosacea at all, because the skin isn't red or in the areas where Rosacea presents itself. I started to do some research and saw that some other women, who have had the Mirena, experienced dry and flaky skin. This condition looks like psoriasis, which I have never had an issue with before. I have had hereditary hair loss since I was 15, but I feel that this issue has intensified with this condition's development. ... more »

Has anyone else experienced this? The patches on my forehead and sides of my nose are not easily soothed with any moisturizers, and I'm losing my will to even socialize or play with my son.
Anyone?
