Mirena High Risk Group, Loss of Libido, Extreme Fatigue, Stress Echo, Pain Pills
Hi all,
I first posted late last year, both before having the Mirena removed and then again after removal. My side effects are similar to most other ie anxiety, depression, spotting 3 out of 4 weeks every month, weight gain, loss of libido etc etc.
I had the Mirena removed in August 09 but still am having the same problems but with some added problems. I get a lot of pain in my upper back and in my chest (left side), pain down my left arm, feeling of having problems breathing, fluid retention, nausea, extreme fatigue everyday and finding it very hard to exercise. (used to go to gym 6 days a week) I have only been to gym 4 times in the past month. ... more »
Hi all,
I first posted late last year, both before having the Mirena removed and then again after removal.
So far (and ongoing) I have had so many blood tests (all clear), ultrasound on my heart (which was good), Gastroscopy (three biopsy taken so waiting for the results), plus I have still got another appointment for a Stress Echo Ultrasound (for further testing on my heart).
As a result of my constant visits to my GP and consistently trying to explain why I feel "generally unwell all of the time" I am now on fluid pills and pills for Gastric reflux. I have never had to have medications before (other than pain pills you buy over the counter) Oh, and I was on sleeping pills for a while also, when I couldnt sleep and was basically crying myself to sleep every night. My GP also recommended I have the flu shot this year because I am in the "high risk group". Can you believe that?? I was shocked (coming into Winter in Australia)
I was a perfectly healthy person pre Mirena and DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FORM OF IUD TO ANYONE.
My GP has tried to tell my I am in Perimenopause (I am 44) which I do not agree mainly because my menstrual cycles are the best they have ever been and back to being regular to the day (since having the Mirena out).
I am desperate to find someone else who has had similar problems because the medical profession seem to have no idea and make me feel I am going crazy or a hypocondriac. Meanwhile, our medical costs just keep getting higher. Just as well my husband is very patient, I would have left me by now!! ha ha!!
Please help
