wow, I've read the comments on this site & have now had my questions answered!! for quite some time I've been wondering if all the things happening to me were caused by the Mirena coil & I think I can safely say - YES they are!!! constant tiredness, headaches, absolutely no sex drive, minor aches in my leg & lower back, but the boils/spots are the worst worst part by far - I'm 35 & thought my spot issues were over when I was a teenager - but these are soooo very painful & I seem to get a new one every other week! I've put off having this removed for quite a while - but no more! I'm making an appointment in the morning to have the darn thing taken out!!
Jeslynn05 - Lets just hope it comes out a lot easier than mine. I have to have mine surgically removed. The doctors couldn't get it out at all.
Cazleni - Hi there, i have had the mirena coil in since september last year. The past six months I have had terrible headaches but it just seems to happen at certain time of the month. I am just wondering if its a side effect. It getting me down a bit cause I don't seem to get much support from doctors, they don't seem to blame that. It was so bad I couldn't go out. Don't know what to do for the best,

Jessysnipsnip - i just had my primary dr. do silicone level testing in my blood work. it came out very very high in my blood. i urge everyone to get tested only because silicone takes years to get out of the body sometimes permanent. i am post mirena two weeks and i did test four days ago and it came out to be .39
(the normal amount in a person should be .05).(anything over .10 is abnormal)
so drs lied to us when they said mirena does not enter our blood stream. and that is why our symptoms take time to go away. but there not as bad as when we had the mirena in. Silicone is deadly at any level. please get tested even if you had mirena out for long time. silicone does not clear over months or years.
that right there is proof it is extremly harmful
also google side effects to silicone and they are very similar to what we had.

i might as well go be a dr. since i know what to test my self for better than the silly drs. who thought we were the crazy ones!!!

Justgorgeous - OMG what a relief to know that there are other women going through what I have been suffering for the last few years.
I had my mirena coil fitted 3.5 / 4 years ago, since then I have steadily gained weight, which I decided was down to stopping breast feeding. I have also for the last year and a half been suffering with the most horrendous acne on my chin and jawline, very very painful lumps that feel so very deep - they make my whole face hurt. I have been through several treatments to no avail. I am suffering the most horrendous ingrowing hairs on my legs that rea very itchy causing constant rashes and sores that scar. I have been on mild anti depressants for the last 2.5 years for anxiety, and literally cannot function without them. On reflection now, I realise also that moods before my period have been awful - I hate everyone and everything and literally feel hiding - especially because of the state of my skin. I have also encounterd very lumpy breasts that have been diagnosed as Fibrocystic Disease, but now I wonder if the Mirena is causing this, I too find the pain when the water from the shower touches my breasts unbearable.
TOMMORROW I AM CALLING THE DOCTOR AND ARRANGING TO GET THIS BLOODY THING TAKEN OUT!!!!!!
