Mirena Sun Spots, Sun Spot, Iud, Forehead, Chicks

Has anyone experienced sun spots on their skin after the IUD? A few months after I had mine inserted i got a huge sun spot on my forehead (HUGE) and few smaller ones on my chicks and chin. Didn't see that as a sure side effect and wonder if anyone else got sun spots? Nothing I did so far made them go away - I am running out of ideas...
Cs12 - Yes, I noticed some sun spots on my face as well - but never even realized it could have been caused by Mirena. But since those sunspots are normal during the hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy, it makes sense that they showed up when I had Mirena in. I've had my Mirena out since July 2008 and the spots have not disappeared. Mine are light and I cover them with SPF40 every day so they do not get worse....

I went to the dermatologist a week ago for sun spots on my face. She prescribed me a bleaching agent for my skin. She told me the spots are likely linked to my iud. It appears around 4 months or 2 years of using the Mirena iud. Along with hormonal acne in many women (acne along the jaw line). I'm getting mine removed tomorrow.
Daisy11 - I have also experienced sun spots and facial discoloration while on the mirena IUD.
I have always been freckled and I recently turned 31, so I had assumed that this was due to natural aging. However, in hindsight, I now realize that thsi pigmentation issue has become much more noticeable and bothersome in the last few years, and after reading up on how Levonorgestrel, I have started to think that it might have been caused by the Mirena. I have been without it for 3 weeks now. I had a myriad of other symptoms ( many of which have already gone away completely or improved a lot), and I plan to wait till I have been without the IUD for 2 months before determining how many of these symptoms were likely due to the IUD. I didn't really think that most of my symptoms had anything to do with the Mirena, but I am quickly realizing that I was wrong, and I am angry that I was so misinformed about the possible dangers of this method of birth control.
