I have been taking lyrcia for about a year off and on. We have tried lots of other meds for my back (DDD) that led to spinal stenious. It a very life changing disorder. I can't work and can't hardly care for my 2 kids. That's the worse part. Anywise. It took 3 years to get a dr to even admit there was a problem. You see I'm 27 now and was about 111 pounds when this all started. No doctor wanted to admit that a female that wasn't over weight and had no other health problems at my age could have a back problem.
Anywise. When I did get a dr to do the MRI I was rushed into emergency surgery. After the failed Surgery we tried lots of meds. Neouroutin was a failure there was one that gave me sezuries can't remember the name ( side effect of lyrcia). So we went to lyrcia. At first it didn't help at all. I too cry all the time ready to give up. I can't work or even enjoy life. The dr kept raising me dose. I'm now up to 150 mig twice a day. It helps but the side effects arnt worth how little it helps. I have to take it with 10/650 vicodin and 15 mil morphine 3 times a day for it to help
side effects include weight gain- any extra weight makes my pain worse
weird dreams. Really weird dreams
fuzzy headed
loss of memory short and long term
cramps on legs and feet
swollen feet and hands
migraines when I forget a dose or quit taking it
dental problems
no menstrual cycle
dry skin cracked dry skin
break out all over my face
wake up many times a night to pee
there are more but this is what started after ever increase of the dosage or after taking it for over a year. Hope this is helpful. I know all other posts were very helpful to me. Thank you
