LUPRON NIGHTMARE

Hi I've been on and off lupron for 2 years.. I have thorasic endo (lung) ...I've had 7 shots at 3.75 and the last one Dec 2002 at 11.25. I've had and still continue with the hot flashes bone joint and muscle pain.. Cant sleep, panic attacks vaginal dryness depression. Doctors say oh these symptoms go away after treatment.. Dont belive them. I just had a bone density test done and I have bone loss in my spine and femur now. Still having all the same symptoms and all they do is add more medications. Instead of feeling like 35 I feel like 95. Any advice anyone? I can relate to all of you with this nightmare..

Schilcb - I am sorry that this is happening to you but you do have a severe disease. I do not think it wise to place all the blame on the Lupron therapy. Lupron works very well to decrease the size of endo lesions and reduce the symptoms but no therapy is free of side effects. The most common side effects related to Lupron therapy mimic menopause and can be managed by adding Norethindrone Acetate 5mg daily to your treatment protocol(including bone mineral loss). Once Lupron therapy is discontinued you should resume normal menses within 3 months and the menopausal side effects will resolve. I am sorry to say that your ailments may be caused by something else. Did your Chronic Pelvic Pain and Endo pain resolve while on Lupron?

Oldatit - I have been on Lupron now for almost 6 years. That's right, 6 years and I think you are completely right on the side effects you are feeling. I have had the similar ones but I rather live with the side effects and be endo pain free. But I think what you are experiencing is right and you know your body better than anyone. Don't let a Dr or anyone else tell you different.

Keylimepie - Stay away from Lupron! It can suddenly cause irreversible injuries, such as bad joint pain, vision loss, tooth loss, hair loss, memory loss, etc. My FIRST shot of Lupron destroyed my abdominal wall. I had to have a tummy tuck and I've never weighed over 100 pounds! And that didn't even work. My life will never be the same. You must understand: by the time you are injured, you can stop taking Lupron, but it's too late! The injuries are permanent. Google Lupron Petition and Lupron Victims. Your doctor may get paid to prescribe Lupron.
