Lupron Mood Swings, Post Partum, Endo, Anxiety, Diet
Posted over a year ago
I have real bad endo, but I was still able to have a baby December 09' my doctor put me on lupron at my 6 week post partum, ive had an extremely had time losing any weight even with diet and exercise I'm wondering good the weight and mood swings/ anxiety be from the lupron?
Stephanie82978 - Yes for sure the weight, mood swings/anxiety are pry from the Lupron. It sucks I know :(
Dsseak - I would have to question why any doctor would put a post partum woman on Lupron. That is just too much to handle. Also, pregnancy is supposed to help endo and if yours didn't it is unlikely the Lupron will do you any good. My endo started after my third pregnancy, I had 3 kids close together with only 1 period in between each, so yes, 3 kids 2 and under. That should have really helped my endometriosis but either I didn't have it before or I just didn't have any symptoms. My first period after I stopped nursing my son was when the pain started. Years later I was put on Lupron for 9 months and it did nothing to help. It ruined my life, forever, and did nothing for the endo. The doctor couldn't believe it when he did my 2nd surgery. Endo was everywhere, it ate through my appendix, it was on the outside of my stomach and diaphram, he said it was the worse he has ever seen. Like if the floor was velcroed to the ceiling is how he described it. They remoed every organ they could remove, I had scar tissue from my omentum wrapping around my bowels, it was horrible. And that was after I was treated with Lupron. Every single organ they removed came back with a lab report of being full of endo. Now I am mostly house bound. And in so much pain it is unbearable. I have been on every medication and even the methadone they started me on does nothing. I was on Morphine last and that did nothing either. I keep hearing how everyone is upset that the side effects are so bad, and they really are. But I encourage anyone considering Lupron to consider that even though it is rare, it could cause you permanent damage. Remember it works on your brain, not straight to your reproductive organs.
