Loestrin VS Junel

I was told by a doctor that I should stay on the brand name, Loestrin, instead of the generics, Microgestin or Junel, because the hormones in the generic are synthetic and therefore, not as good for me as natural hormones. From the research I've done, I can't find any evidence that one is not synthetic. They both say, "semisynthetic". Does anyone know?
