I am currently on my second pack of Loestrin 24 Fe. I was initially psyched about the pill because I have always suffered from irregular periods and heavy bleeding and cramps that knock me off my feet. During the first pack, my period came on during the third week of pills. The bleeding was not that bad but the cramps were so horrendous that I left work and went to the Emergency room. I literally thought I was having a miscarriage because it felt like I had a bowling ball waiting to be delivered and I kept having the need to pee. All my blood work and urinalysis came back negative and the doctor said it was probably uterine or ovarian pain. I bled about 14-15 days during my first pack of pills, with very heavy bleeding and clotting during the last week of pills. The bleeding was actually worse during the 4 iron pills. Now I am on my second month of pills. Again I started to bleed during my third week of pills. Now I am in my fourth week of pills and the bleeding is stop an go. There was some clotting but not like last months pack. The cramps were not as bad. During the first pack, I was taking Percocet and Naproxen for the pain. This month 2 pamprin and an Aleve did the trick. I will go through my third pill pack to see if I get to the only 3-4 day period. If not, I will ask my OB for a different pill. Having a cycle two weeks out of the month is not for me. I have not had any weight gain. My appetite fluctuates. My mood the first month was horrible. I was snappy and extra bitchy. My mood this month is not that bad but I do notice twinges. I have no acne at all, actually my skin is lighter, smoother, and much prettier. I have not had any headaches, some nauseous, and stomach pains but overall, my only real issue is with the 2 weeks of bleeding.
