Glad to Know It's Not Just Me...............
This site is a welcome find! I am glad to read that my problems arent just in the mind! I have been on Lisinopril for many years, I also take Bendrofluazide but only every three days. My father died of a hypertensive CVA, my brother also has high blood pressure and angina, I have high blood pressure and hypothyroidism. Originally the worst side effect I guess was the coughing and cold, runny nose - which always seemed to sport a drip when I didnt want it! But now I have read other peoples' problems I figure some of mine are due to Lisinopril. I often have problems getting to sleep, more recently I have had strange nightime attacks when I wake up feeling weird, faint, sick and with palpitations. I have been told that this could be due to my blood pressure dropping too low whilst I am sleeping. My last BP reading was good 120/80 and I do now wonder if I can wean myself down to a lower dose although I am only on 5mgs. I also get the most dreadful gastric problems, heartburn, wind, intestinal cramps, diarrhea and sometimes constipation. I also get the 'spaced out' feeling sometimes, and feel fatigued with muscle weakness and cramps. In the past I have had really bad depression but my GP didnt seem to think it was the Lisinopril.
I do really wonder now if I should drop my meds and see what happens. Like a lot of people here I dont want high blood pressure but I dont feel the quality of my life is that great when I get some of these awful side effects.
I dont like to think of others having these problems but I am glad I found this site.
