I told my doctor about the muscle spasms after taking Lisinopril. She told me I was not drinking enough water. I finally went to the emergency room after severe cramping. She discontinued the cholesterol meds after I faxed the ER report, but told me to keep taking Lisinopril. I told her I was not improving after 2 weeks. I was sent to the hospital for a round of tests to check circulation in my legs-----I passed the test. Again, I told her that I had used a pill splitter to cut the pills into halves and thirds because a whole 20 mg tablet was too strong. She simply did not want to admit that I was right about the strength of the pill. She finally stated that my hospital tests did show "some early signs of arteriowhatever", but she wanted me to take COQ 10 and Omega 3 and add Plavix later if necessary. I had to say, "What about the 20 mg Lisinopril that I have been splitting?" She then said she would look at her computer and see if the pills were available in 10 mg and if so she would order them for me. Can you believe this? She did not want to say, "You were right, the first dosage was too strong." I am going to use the lower dosage for 1 week. If my muscle spasms continue, I will find another doctor! I am done with this. In the meantime, I am also using a series of natural meds from my local health food store including ground flaxseed and oatmeal.
