Lisinopril Noisy Places, High Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Anxiety, Yoga Classes

I was just prescribed Lisinopril today FOR ANXIETY. I just got on here to check out other peoples side effects and its caused anxiety for everyone else. Im confused!!!! What do I do? I do not have high blood pressure. It was 121/79 at my appt today. But I have anxiety when I get in crowded or noisy places and my heart begins to race and flutter. Thats why he gave me Lisinopril was to slow my heart rate during these episodes but if its causing this for you all then im sure it will just make me worse.

Propsguy - this sounds like a case of your doctor being influenced to prescribe a drug for an off-label use in an attempt to boost sales and expand markets. lisinopril doesn't slow your heart rate- it widens your blood vessels so that blood will move through the vessels with less pressure. and surely you are not anxious all the time! why take a drug all the time? why not learn some simple breathing exercises so that when you are anxious, you can breathe and lower your heart rate. take yoga classes- yoga is excellent for this.

Propsguy - besides, unless you maintain a strict low potassium diet when on lisionopril, (which is about the least healthy diet you can have) your potassium levels can increase enough to damage your heart! then you'll really have something to be anxious about!
