I want to start a class action suite against lisinopril
please reply and lets start a list.i will do the leg work.
please read my other post
Babell - I will definitely join the effort in bringing a class action suit against the makers of this drug.
Cappuccino27 - I have been on linsinopril for a couple of weeks. I started out with headaches that progressed to extreme fatigue and an extremly low blood pressure. Now i'm having problems with getting my b/p up it's dangerously low count me in.
Worried2 - My husband has been taking this med since august. He has develop severe side effect while on this medicine. Please count us in.
Hollandgirl - My entire body is scared from this poison, and I have spent thousands of dollars due to what it's done to me. Please, count me in on this! So sick of the big Pharm. companies ruling us!
Cgenterprises - I took lisinopril for 5 weeks and the coughing is what got to me the most--you can always wash peed up pants. The depression and lethargy were weird but didn't really make the correlation until recently. I want to know how long before the coughing goes away. I kept taking because I didn't want to stroke out over the holidays. My mother is 91 and afraid to not take what the Dr. prescribes but of course has depression--which the Dr says is normal for someone her age--BS and the dry hack and the urination issues--all part of old age--or are that many people on lisinopril and we attribute it to old age?
Floradorra - good idea, i also have problems w/muscle pain, diagnosed as polymyalgia rheumatica. i know the lisinopril did this to me. i don't want to take predisone and have a different set of problems,so i'm trying to get over this w/ vitamins and aleve every other day.this drug should not be allowd. sincerely, floradorra@hotmail.com
Tanakraus - I am there with all of you. I started taking Lisinopril HCTZ in late January and started having post nasal drip. I thought my allergies were kicking in until the cough started. It was non productive like a tickle in my throat
I couldn't get rid of with anything. I knew something was wrong when I couldn't sleep because of the CONSTANT cough. I looked up the side effects and couldn't believe what I was reading. It has been a week since I stopped taking the drug and I am slowly getting better. I am so sore and now when I cough it is so hard that I end up throwing up or dry heaving. I am stuck inside because I need to be by a bathroom and I am so sleep deprived. The doctor said I just need to ride it out!
Aa3jt - Interesting I found you. I too am thinking of a lawsuit. I know of a lawyer in Baltimore who owns the Orioles whose whole practice is based on class action lawsuits. This poison has effected my entire life, my marriage, my dignity. Feel free to email me at aa3jt@comcast.net
Sea - Hi i have a runny nose continually I do suffer from rhinitus but not like this and had all blood this morning from my nose. Please email me at karwag233@hotmail.com.
Karen
Mollymo - I began taking this drug in January 2010 and here it is, the first week in March, and I'm convinced with 100% certainty the drug has nearly killed me. I saw my doctor's PA last week to report my symptoms and she basically refused to even discuss the probability that the lisinopril has been the culprit; however, I did convince her to at least decrease my dosage. I still continued to experience problems (despite being cut down to 5 mg vs. the original 10) with excessive hypotension, irregular heartbeat (especially at rest), postnasal drip, nagging cough (worse at night), fogginess, lethargy, light-headedness, momentary bilateral arm weakness of sudden onset, anorexia, depression, etc. As a result, 2 days ago, I called my doctor's office and told her I was stopping the drug. Of note, I have taken atenolol for 20+ years, originally prescribed due to a tendency toward benign tachycardia. At this point, I am hoping the lisinopril has not caused any permament damage to my system. After discontinuing it for a couple of days now, I'm beginning to feel more alert and a bit more energetic, but the postnasal drip, cough, and occasional irregular heartbeat are still with me. I certainly hope the drug dissipates soon. My BP is edging up a bit, so I may need to be started on something else but I'm hoping a different drug doesn't have such a negative impact. Needless to say, I would definitely be interested in participating in litigation pertaining to this lethal drug. The vast number of complaints, all virtually the same, are a testament to lisinopril's obvious toxicity to the human body.
Gabrweeks - Contact me when you are ready. I have been sick the entire 3 years I have been on this drug. It needs to be taken off the market NOW!!
Judy7450 - I would like to be a part of the lawsuit against lisinopril. after changing my dosage from 20mg to 40 mg i started having panic attacks and palpatations. i went to the er thinking i was dying. i need those bills from the er paid for.
Marlies1 - I was on lisinopril last Oct 6, 2009, took 5 mg experienced severe tingling and numbness in my legs, feet, arms and hands, fingers, was re admitted to hosp.,then decrease to 2.5 mg. Only on it for 10 days, discontinued after going to ER again, and was told I was having a panic attack which I never had in my life. I experience severe hair breakage, racing heart, heart palpatations, depression, fatique, body heaviness, muscles hurting, panic attacks off and on coming from nowhere, and that constant cough. Off of it since October 14, 2009, still having panic attacks, not as bad. That is what the DR in the ER said it was last October, 2009. Also still have the cough with lung congestion, not as frequent. The strange thing is everytime I have one of those so called panic attacks, it comes with that strange dry cough. It is like my body is telling me the poison is still in my system. Hope someone files a lawsuit
Cdeatrick - I agree! I just had a 3 month nightmare due to this medication. I was on Micardis for many yrs. with only good results. But my insurance co. --Aetna, stopped paying for it while at the same time offering me 6 months of Lisinopril FREE. By pushing me on this mediation, they almost ruined my life. I had violent coughing with resulting vomiting, chocking, gagging, loss of bowel and bladder control. I was unable to work, sleep, or socialize. My bedding and carpeting were ruined due to these accidents. My PCP, a ARNP, and an Allergist all missed the connection. But I neighbor showed me a letter in a newspaper column that described all my symptoms and indicated Lisinopril as the culprit. We need to sue the drug co. AND Aetna for forcing us to take this terrible medication!!!!
Godzwoman - Im very much open to filing a suit against the makers of this drug...I was on it for only nine days, and began to have some crazy reactions to this medicine I confined to my bed for the whole weekend due the enability to walk very bad headache, could not use the bathroom,I also noticed that it began to affect my speech having spasms in my back, shortness of breath, numdness in my feet and tingling in my finger..I will be going public with this, because I tried to contact the FDA without any success...so now I will be contacting my local news stations here in my city(Charlotte NC)! You can reach me at mstlburris@att.net It needs to be taking off the market!
Dhiltzman - I want to join this lawsuit. I was on life-support for 2 weeks after taking lisinipril and having a nasty allergic reaction. dhiltzman@aol.com

Spieye74 - I've been taking this medication for 2 months and then all of a sudden I develop a continuous post nasal drip. I was diagnosed as having bronchitis and sinusitis and was prescribed 3 different medications, which one was an antibiotic. I never thought that this was associated to the medication until I started investigating the side effects. My email is spieye74@yahoo.com.
Dee38 - i have been on this medications for years. My hair is thinning and i have always had thick hair. their is nothing in side effects about hair thinning. i want to join, I'm ready to proceed. my email is aldena36@gmail.com.
Jlenios - On behalf of my Mother who is a victim of lisinopril I will definatley be in favor of a class action lawsuit
Judylew - I have been on this drug for at least 4 years, and suffered from so many things, never once having anyone question the use of this medication in reference to the many, many problmes that I am having. To say that I'm angry is nothing compared to how ill I've been. Three years of my life have been a living hell, and today I am thinking perhaps I've found the culprit. The thousands of dollars spent out of pocket, numberous dr visits, and months in bed are just a few of the sad things that I've endured. I could write a book, but will spare you all the rhetorical information for now. Thank You for posting. God help us all.
Judylew - Yes, please include me in any and all infomation you have. You are a life safer for posting. Thank You so much. Judy Lewis jtlewis1977@zitomedia.net
Jackstlc - I took 40mg. of lisinopril daily for 10+ years, discontinuing it within the past nine months, after my better half found this internet site. I had all the usual side effects except digestive problems. Most of these side effects started to disappear within a week of stopping, with the notable exception of the leg and back pain, which continues to worsen and has reached the point that I have lost my job (selling real estate) because I can no longer take clients around effectively. Is there any forward motion toward either a class action or individual legal representation? Jack L. Dillard; Miami, FL
Muffie3 - My husband has just fail victim to this drug he is in renal failure, I will definatley be interested in a class action lawsuit. I could use some help
My email is Bedford_dmonteir@hotmail.com
Deemac76 - I was on that drug for 4 mos, I had blood work done prior to starting the meds and I had now kidney issues. I went to the ER this month for back pain, they ran blood work on me and the doctor said that my kidneys were failing. I couldn't believe it my PCP would prescribe me something as lethal as that. So the ER Dr immediately told me to stop taking it and prescribed me provasc instead. But the damage has already been done, I wonder if my PCP is to blame as well. Count me in DEEMAC76@GMAIL.COM D. MCFADDEN ORLANDO FL.

Changed it after 5 days to lisinopril. Three weeks Later I had a heart attact. Three sundays in a row. Diagnosed vasospasm with no reason and no blockages no nothing.
Joanzee - Count me in, I'm a 73 year old man and I thought I was dying. I was on it for 7 weeks and didn't realize that this poison pill, lisinopril was causing all my suffering.Weigt loss, dizzy, blurred vision, fatique, listless, muscle aches and pains. Been off it for 10 days now and just starting to feel like myself.
Joanzee - I suffered enough, so count me in. I posted my information under joanzee #33614 momhughis@aol.com
Emeretia - I am going for a EGD on friday. My doctor put me on Lisinopril about a years ago. I started having problems. have been experiencing coughs with a lot of mucus to the point of throwing up. It ha been horrible. I could fill a glass of mucus gagging thru the night, they treated me for sinus infections, COPD, Reflux .. gave me steriods..
I was rushed to the hospital with a swelling mouth. Wonder why my docyor never took a look at my Meds????

My email is atlantasbf@bellsouth,net
Tha4mat - I was on Lisinopril for about a year in 2007-2008 for high blood pressure. Caused me to cough uncontrollably and gag and vomit; Vicodin was the answer to my prayers for stopping this. However, I need vicodin all the time to supress my coughs now. I don't think I'm addicted to the drug, but it does the trick for me. I was with Kaiser at the time and told them about it and the doctor refused to change the prescription for the HBP med saying it was the best on the market. It's 2010 and I'm on Amlodipine and it works fine with no side affect. Lisinopril caused me and my family lots of sick time, sleep time, quality of life and my good health. I want to sue!
Tram7777777 - I WAS PRESCRIBED LISINOPRIL ON 02-18-2010 I HAD THE PRESCRIPTION FILLED BUT I DIDN'T START TAKING THE MEDECINE UNTIL 03-20-2010, BECAUSE I HAD TOLD THE DOCTOR THAT I SHOULDN'T TAKE THE MEDECINE BUT THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO TAKE THE MEDECINE SO I STARTED TAKING IT ON 07-22-2010 I WOKE UP AT 4:19 AM WITH BREATHING PROBLEMS MY FACE WAS DISTORTED MY MOUTH FELT LIKE IT WAS STUFFED WITH LOTS OF RUBBER, MY TONGUE WAS SWOLLEN I COULDN'T OPEN MY MOUTH, I WAS SHAKING I COULDN'T CONTROL MY EMOTIONS I HAVE A COUGH, IN THE BACK OF MY LEGS HURT AND MY BREATHING IS STILL HARD, I WAS IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 2 DAYS, I WAS TOLD BY THE DOCTOR THAT IF I HAD NOT COME TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM THAT I WOULD HAVE DIED, I DONT SLEEP WELL AT NIGHT, I HAD SWELLING IN MY HANDS, I COULDN'T CLOSE THEM TIGHT I TOLD THE DOCTOR WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO SINCE I WAS TAKING THE MEDECINE JITTERY, CONSTIPATED. I WAS TRYING TO TAKE THE MEDECINE BECAUSE THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED THIS EDECINE, I WAS TOLD BY THE EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTOR NOT TAKE LISINOPRIL ANYMORE. I WAS COLD ALL OF THE TIME, I AM STILL COUGHING. tram777@aol.com
Ctwmaestro - Thank you so much for posting this info on Lisinopril. My husband took it for several weeks, but stopped taking it about a week ago. During this time he has developed severe leg and muscle pain to the point to where today he can hardly walk. He practically screams with pain with every step. I cannot describe the total misery my husband is in. His thumb and forefinger have swollen up to where he is unable to bend either one. The doctor attributed it to arthritis or a blood clot and ordered tests, but our health insurance has run out because he changed jobs. He says this is not arthritis pain, but pain like he has never felt before, and I believe him. I am seeing my normally active husband become a cripple and should be consideree disabled.
My question is, what would it take to get this class action law suit going ASAP, and what time frame are we looking at? There are thousands and thousands of complaints about this drug that I have seen online within the last several days of research. My husband thinks he is dying and I want to help him and others. Please tell me what I can do to help. We have no money, but there must be some other way to get this drug off the market. There are ads for lawyers on TV all the time calling for people that have had adverse reactions and disabilities from taking certain drugs. I will watch and see who they are.
Check into it - http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2000/04/01/lisinopril-1/
Thanks,
ctwmaestro

David1278 - I had taken lisinopril fo over 9 months and stopped this medication about 3 months ago, I still have had most of the symptoms mentioned in this post such as anxiety, general fatigue, muscular cramps, weakness, insomnia. I have stopped this drug and the insomnia and anxiety have gone away but still have been battling with muscle weakness and fatigue this medication have changed my life for the worst I used to very athletic and now I can barely do my daily activities because my muscles feel so tired. This medication needs to be taken off the market and people need to be warned about this!!
Davemiles1 - I almost died on 12-3-10 when my tongue and throat swelled up so much that I couldn't breathe. I was In ICU for 3 days on life support with a respirator breathing for me until the swelling could go down for me to breathe on my own. I had been taking Lisinopril only since 10-11-10. Please contact me with the Class Action Lawsuit information. Contact me at DaveMiles53@msn.com Thanks
Blessedbydabest - I have been on Lisinopril approx 3 to 4 yrs. On 11/18/10 I went to the ER complaining of swelling in my throat that was the last thing I remember. I was in the ICU for 5 days on life support until I could breathe on my own and the swelling in my throat went down. Once I was off of life support and found out what cause this i was in shock. The doctors stated that they are finding this to be a common reaction especially among African American. Contact me at can_i_call_collect@yahoo.com
Sdanleysmith - My husband was just released from ICU due to the severe side effects of Lisinopril. We are defintely interested in a class action law suit. This drug needs to be removed from the market. Please contact me on sylvia0812@aol.com.
Sleeplessinnj - I am 39 years old. I have been diagnosed with high BP. The 1st drug they put me on was Lisinopril on 11/1/10. I developed this cough about 2 days into the medication. I kept taking it thinking it was going to go away. I was a constant tickle in my throat. No matter what time of the day I was always coughing. I have been sleep deprived due to my coughing. Out in public places I had to carry water and throat drops to help keep the cough quiet. It keeps my husband up at night. I stopped taking the pills before I needed a refill. It is now Jan 11,2011 and I am still up at night coughing and coughing throughout my days. I am physically tired from coughing so much. The lack of sleep is really starting to wear on me and my husband is slowing starting to get annoyed with it too. Something has to be done this drug should never have been on the market.
Seeshells - seeshells I have permante damage to my pancrease, i have now chronic pancreatisis becuase of htc. count me in the class action lawsuit

ONE MORNING I WOKE UP AT 3 AM MY FACE WAS DISTORTRD MY LIPS WERE THE SIZE OF A BABOON'S ASS AND MY FACE LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN BEATEN BY A PROFESSIONAL BOXER NEEDLESS I WASN'T PRETTY, I WAS RUSHED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT THE HOSPITAL AND ADMITTED IN THE INTENSIVE CARE 2 DAYS. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DOCTOR IF I HAD NOT GOTTEN TO TE HOSPITAL WHEN I
Rosie1950 - Rosie-MY husband just die Jan.10,2011 he was on the drug lisinopril-hctz20/12.5mg. The doctor said his brain swell cutting air. so he die. I need some help because he was going to the doctor for the swelling and they treated him for something else.. Please E-Mail me at rosiegunn@att.net if anyone can help me
Jgnana - This happened to me also. My lips and throat swelled and I had to go to emergency and was admitted into intensive care and was on oxygen for two days.
Galiajoe - For reasons of medical malpractice, I was forced to quit my job in February 2009-I was treated with a medicine called Lisinopril 10 MG,(which supposed to keep my blood pressure to normal levels);this medication was destroying my immune system for a period of 3 years ,causing severe breathing problems, fatigue, and headaches. The physicians of the Clinic in Magna made me blood tests every two months, according to them everything was fine,ACCORDING TO THEM, I HAD CHRONIC SINUSITIS.therefore, injected me almost every week Antibiotics.(the antibiotics can not be administered indiscriminately-but they did me, as normal-) Dr. Spencer told me would put the antibiotic most powerful of the market and my problem would be solved,to summarize...des-
troyed my life;My daughter took me to an allergist, and the Doctor discovered that I did not have sinusitis or anything just that medicine was killing me slowly, because I have an allergic reaction to
ACE Inhibitor (Angiotensin Corverting Enzyme).
Now I'm destroyed,I lost a good job, received unemployment benefits, until the second week of January 2011,and I could not find work. The labor market is very slow, and tried to get work, but I've never been called to work.
I will put ads on KSL,for jobs that allow me to at least be able to pay my house.
Since June 2010, when the doctor discovered the reason of breath and fatigue, never again take any medicine and my health is perfect now.
Please do understand that my financial situation does not allow me, to pay anything for now.Just because I have no way, because due to medical malpractice,I have no job, friends, and sometimes go hungry.
I feel shame, anger, loneliness, injustice ... but I'm putting my best to return.
.How do I sue the clinic or the manufacturer of Lisinopril?
galiajoe@yahoo.com .Help me please Thanks
Angelonboard - I started taking Lisinopril in August 05, 2010 and started this chronic coughing that kept me up most of the night. My doctor started prescribing inhalers, steroids, singulair, and antibotics for asthma and zyrtek for allergies since the end of August to January, 2011. I recently found out is the medication and stop taking it two weeks ago but I'm still coughing. It is down right irrating and embarassing. I want some information about this class lawsuit. Please contact me at AngelaSmith010@aol.com
Kalynz - I would gladly join this as after reading the comments here I am NOT taking this medication again.. Last night I ended up in the ER thinking maybe I was having problems with my asthma. My oxygen stats were ok but my blood pressure was 151/43 to begin with before dropping to 109/30. All my blood test and x-ray was okay but they did say that my right side of my diaphram was further up.. I have had many xrays before and have NEVER been told this! I felt like my diaphram was pushing up into my lungsI have been on this drug for almost three weeks and have been having heading which grew into problems breathing that was NOT asthma related, trouble swallowing and not being able to eat much at all, fatigue, muscle cramps and pain in my joints along with occassional chest pains. I get lightheaded and confused easily..I've also had heart palpitations and rapid and shaky heartbeat. I'm a little scared and concerned now!!!
Rosie1950 - My Husband just die on that lisinopril. Yhe doctor said he swollow up so bad that it cut the air off to his brain. So he went into a corn,Yes I would like to be part of a class action. How many people have to die before. someone stop that durg uses
Amethyst98 - I have just started taking this drug...and for the most part have not developed any symptoms, except for tingling in my hands. I was reading a book today, and it mention this drug and what you can do instead. Lower salt intake, excercise and have more of a vegetarian diet. The book I am reading is 'Confessions of a Medical Heretic.' by Robert S. Mendelsohn, M.D. Very interesting and frightening book!! Sincerely, Lynda
Davidh144 - Count me in, I was on 5mg of Lisinopril for several years but over Labor Day 2010, I developed Angioedema of the lower lip. This was the first occurrence. About a month later, my tongue swelled up and was working it's way to my throat as I received treatment which thankfully brought the swelling down. I have had two subsequent occurrences of tongue swelling and recently, horribly swollen triceps from "Excessive exercise" which is supposedly a trigger.
I am now a slave to this drug, even though I have been off it since Labor Day. It is a horrible drug that never should have been released to the market.
Galiajoe - Someone already has an attorney who is handling a lawsuit against Lisinopril or prescribing doctor?...Please let me know asap to join the lawsuit
Dhiltzman - Count me in. I took lisinipril and almost died. I wa in a coma for 19 days and on life support and died 3 times. My Dr. said its a miracle that I survived.
Evelyn50 - OK, I just figured out it's the Lisinopril making me ill - I was put on Lisinopril about a month ago for high B/P , Started having severe headaches and I mean SEVERE like the top of my head was gonna explode and the pain behind my eyes and the back of my neck was unbearable, vision problems nausea/vomiting trouble speaking, thinking, and even walking, lack of appetite,no energy and severe weakness and heaviness feeling especially in my legs. I also developed quite a tremor and extreme shakiness plus many other symptoms...Became so ill at the onset I stayed in bed with a barf bucket by my side for 3 days until I could no longer take it anymore and my husband took me to ER = $125 co-pay they sent me home with some pain and nausea meds. as well as anti anxiety medication...My symptoms persisted and I continued follow up's with my PCP @ $25 co-pay per visit, PCP sent me for CT Scan of my head = $150 co-pay...The results were fine nothing could be found I was told...Symptoms continued to worsen, PCP sent me to Neurologist @ $35 co-pay per visit, Neurologist sent me for much blood work, an MRI with contrast and a C-spine xray @ a total cost of over $300 to me for co-pay for those tests, All came back normal...Was sent for even MORE blood work...All came back normal, The only thing out of the norm was my Blood pressure...So they increased my dosage of Lisinopril...I began to notice that after 24 hours and just before taking my next daily dose of Lisinopril that my symptoms became somewhat better as If I sort of felt like perhaps I finally did not feel quite as bad as I had been feeling...But within 2 hours of taking my daily dose symptoms returned with a vengeance...So it MUST be the Lisinopril and today 04/16/2011 I have decided that I will NOT take my daily dose of Lisinopril and well...I have a feeling that I will soon start feeling much better at least I hope so.
P.S. Is there a Lawsuit against this Horrible Drug ?? If there is not there should be!!!
P.S.S.Today is the 20th I have not taken Lisinopril since April 15,2011. The Headaches stopped on the 16th, I still have weakness, trouble sleeping that horrible dry cough,on/off digestive issues, shakiness and occasional lip and tongue swelling. I hope and pray that none of these will be permanent : Please Count me IN on starting a Class action lawsuit against this drug. My E-mail is: evelyn_64@hotmail.com
Carsann - I have been on lisinopril for 3 years. Because of insurance changes went on it because of cost factor. Right away I had low blood pressure almost passing out so cut back to 1/2 dose. Next sore throat and coughing. I have went to throat and allergy specialist getting really no where. I am always tirid and depressed because of my life changing . Just getting up and going to work is a chore. Cough drops have become a daily ritual just to be able to talk without coughing. My voice has changed due to so much coughing. I never thought this little pill could be causing my problems. My mother also is on lisinopril and coughs and is very tirid most of the time. We have both been taken off this week and looking foreward to living again.
Sleangel - count me in - i have been on it for years and have just been told it is the cause of a great deal of problems i am having
Judylew - Another post from me. I saw a Neurologist recently and now they suspect Parkinsons and I just can't believe where my life has gone. It's like I was NORMAL and now I shake, walk like a Weeble and have gained so much weight I'm depressed. We have lots of info here, and many stories, but my question to all of you "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE"? How do we find a lawyer or firm that will take this on? Does anyone on here have connections to a lawyer or anything that could move us on to some help? I am going to be doctoring for years, and there is no history of Parkingsons, Lupus, or MS in my family. The one and only common denominator that we all share is LISINOPRIL. When I found the compound information about this poison, and you do know it IS made from POISON RIGHT? WELL, have you ever thought maybe you got bit by a snake? That's how I feel. I itch, hurt, and my mind is all messed on most days. SO, LET'S GET MOVING ON THIS, WHAT DO YOU SAY? God Bless All of you and I sure hope we do get help.
Evelyn50 - Hi all Lisinopril users Just want to know if the person who started this thread has had any luck with lawyers...Because I have NOT - The reason being is that they ask a specific Question and that IS: Well didn't you receive side effect print out with your prescription ??? And I must answer Yes I did - Thus I get told well then, NO CASE - This seem very unfair at least to me anyway because even though I got a side effect print out ...Well honestly I NEVER expected what I REALLY got from taking it . Yes there really need to be something done about these Pharmaceutical Companys..It seems they have all the rights and we the people who they prey on and push these type of pills on Have NONE!!
It's a shame something cannot be done about this, I am honestly afraid to ever take ANY prescription Drug Ever Again and probably never will - I'd rather die than be as sick as the lisinopril made me.
Boobabyd - im all for a class action lawsuit. my life will never be the same because of this drug. i don't know why its still on the market!
Bdulworth - My husband and I are in! He was on it for 6 months. It was the worst thing I have ever seen anyone go through. During this time my husband had a 72 hour video EEG so I have video of my husbands episodes that was very violent leaving him so confused he could not remember where he was or what had happened to him. His 6 months that he was taking this medication consist of many, many medical information and documents that I have copies of. He has only been off of the med for a week and I would say about 90% of his symptoms have subsided. I am not sure if and when the other symptons will go away. Please contact us with and for more information. bdulworth11@hotmail.com Thank you!
Judylew - Another post from me, and still wondering how many people do we need to move on with this? Who was the "original poster"? I think maybe "PISTOFF" started this discussion and if so, are you keeping track of the situation and do you have any thoughts on how to proceed? I'm still dealing with health issues, and wonder if they'll ever go away. How are the rest of you feeling? Since I stopped taking Lisinopril I"ve not had another episode with my throat closing off and my Uvula has not swollen either. I still walk with dificulty and am getting injections for that. Presently the itching is minimal, so perhaps I'm making improvements, however the heart cath is not paid for yet! and that's been 5 years of payments to meet that bill. I also have GI problems now and am sure it's related to that poison. So, is there a lawyer or law firm interested in helping us? Take care folks.
Kmhomee - My name is Kevin and I have had issues with Lisinopril since last year when I had to make an emergency room trip because of the drug. Since that tine I have exerienced blurred vision, vertigo, trouble swallowing and my equilibrum is off. I would like to join this lawsuit but I dont know how to go about it. My phone number is 678-500-4129 if anyone can help me. Thank You
Judylew - To: Evelyn50, It appears that you and I are both thinking alike here. We have certainly gathered info pertaining to the use and destruction of Lisinopril, but we now have to think about how to move on with a Class Action Suit against the makers of this stuff. I thought about calling a local attorney and asking him some questions, but I'm thinking it has to be a large law firm to take on such a task. I see ads on TV for women who used this drug while pregnant and am wondering if that law firm might be the way to go. If they already realize it causes birth defects in unborns, then perhaps they have more information related to it's effects on long term patients too. I am still suffering people. I've been off of this drug for about a year, but still have problems. The Uvula has not swollen since I quit using this, but my legs are so painful and I still shake. I do sleep better, and my mind seems to be less foggy, my equlibrium is off and my eyes are still blurred a lot. I continue to experience vertigo and I still get sick to my stomach almost daily. Well, for today I wish you all well and I'll continue to post and see where we are. God bless you all.
Monica75 - MY HUSBAND AND I WERE BOTH TAKING THIS DRUG AND HE & I EXPERIENCED THE SEVERE COUGHING BUT MY SIDE EFFECTS WERE MORE EXTENSIVE TO NAME A FEW DEPRESSION, JOINT PAINS, I NOW WEAR GLASSES & I CAN GO ON & ON WE WOULD GLADLY SUPPORT THIS LAW SUIT YOU CAN REACH US @....... Markc - EllenC -my husband was admitted September 2009 to the ER w/sharp chest pain. He had an aeorta dissection due to high blood pressure. His head was twice the size (swollen) for 26 days in ICU. The doctors finally figured it out-it was LISINOPRIL they stated this fact. My husband survived beyond his odds and is on permanent disability. Please contact me campbellellen@att.net

Macsmika - Claudiah - This is scary because my doctor put me on this drug in 2003. I started to experience tireness and numbness in both by legs and the same thing in both arms. Walking up a small flight of stairs was excuriating. I also now suffer from panic attacks that are so extreme that when I have one I feel as if I am drowning. Even though I stopped taking the Lisnopril in 2008 the damage as been done because my body gets so stiff sometimes that I find myself shuffling when walking from the painful tingling. Please count me in.
Naenae11 - I have only taken lisinopril for two days the second day I felt like crap. Muscle aches, red, hot, dizzy this is pure poison and will no longer take it. So you can definitely count me in. I have never felt bad in my life. My email is hoss415@gmail.com. GOD BLESS!
Bjgriffin - count me in.......cough, hair breakage, constant unination, ear ache and pain, upper respiratory infections, many doctors and tests revealed nothing wrong.

Klm72 - I was prescribed Lisinopril.HCTZ 20-25mg on this past Friday, I took the first pill, and several hours later I began having leg cramps. It subsided, but then a few hours later I was awoken by severe cramps all over my body, felt like I was going to faint, my b/p dropped to 100/60, I had dry mouth, severe thirst, headache, confusion, lack of speech coordination, lack of coordination altogether, my resp. rate was 8.I had blood vessels popping in my fingers, dzziness, trouble breathing,...the list goes on. All from one little pill. I was transported to the ER via ambulance. I'm not sure who is at fault, but the only information I can find it the HCTZ in the drug describes my experience as an overdose. It has been a few days, and my coordination is still off, as well as I can barely walk from the muscle aches, and am still getting the muscle cramps. My email is chriskim252@gmail.com
I would be interested in getting involved in a class action lawsuit.

Evelyn50 - Hi all it seems this list continues to grow longer...And longer and I continue to wonder WHY there is NOT 1 Lawyer who is willing to help us - I mean there are lawsuits for so many other dangerous drugs on the market...WHY NOT this 1 ??? How many more people have to suffer before something is done about this horrible disabling...Even fatal drug before someone is willing to take NOTICE!!! Please will a good lawyer please come foward to do something about this horrible drug !!
Forever46 - It has taken me many months to find this website! I only took lisinipril for about 3 months, but it destroyed my knees and my muscles from my hip joints down! The first joint to become painful was my right knee. Took tons of Motrin, Aleeve, Bufferin, Tylenol, etc. but only got a few hours of relief. Finally, I had Supartz injections in the right knee and it is a little better, but my legs continue to swell, especially the right one. How do we go about a class action suit. I just want people to know about this effect of lisinipril, but how?
Dslo30 - I was prescribed this drug about 6 months ago. I started having sever symptoms immediately. SEVERE tingling and twithcing, terrible panic attacks, pains in my chest and legs, blurry vision, fogginess, etc. I didn't know at the time what was causing my symptoms. Then I stopped taking it as I ran out and was traveling for work. I remember thinking to myself "I feel so much better". But I didn't know why. Then 6 days ago I got home and refilled my script. The first day was so bad, I thought I was going to die. I took it for two more days and kept having terrible symptoms (my panic attacks were so bad I had to leave work. I stopped three days ago and feel SO MUCH BETTER. I'm only 30 years old, and would rather die than take this crap.
I work in the medical field and feel it was horribly irresponsible for my dr to not warn me of the side effects. Count me in!
Dslo30 - Oh, and because the other side effects were so severe, I forgot to mention the incessant coughing, gagging and vomiting.
Ermill77 - I just got out ICU several days ago from Lisinopril, I was in ICU for 5 days with a sever case of angioedema and i have the post nasal drip, tingling in the extremities, muscle spasms, nausea. It really messed me up.
Klm72 - Hi all, It has been 17 days since I first took Lisinopril as I posted previously. A few days after the incident of ending up in the ER and I stopped taking it, I developed this cough that I still have. I still become disoriented at times, and it's still hard for me to concentrate sometimes, as well as I continue to have numbness in the tips of my fingers on my right hand. I wonder if this is some kind of permanent damage that occurred from the reaction I had. I am planning to set an appt with another doctor in the clinic I was treated at to address these issues that persist.
Judylew - It is now Oct 21, 2011 and I continue to hear from so many people who have suffered from this POISON and I have yet to hear one word about a law suit to support our cause. I want to lobby against this stuff, but don't have the strength to do it anymore. I have spent thousands of dollars on my health, and still suffer daily from side effects related right back to Lisinopril. See,I was the dumb one who didn't realize what was happening to me, and I continued to use this medicine for years. I can only offer sympathy to you all who are suffering. Someday, I think we'll turn on our TV's and see an add that says, "Have you or a loved one been suffering from (you fill in the blank) and have you used the drug Lisinopril, contact the law office of XYZ"! You just wait folks, someday it'll happen and maybe we'll finally have a voice. Until then, just be strong and trust that you'll make it.

Mnewby - I was on lisinopril for over a year, nearly coughed myself to death. Seriously. Have been off lisinopril for 18 months, hoarseness and sore throat never went away. Now I'm told I have a "nodule" on my vocal cord, something found in singers and sports fans who scream alot. The violent lisinopril cough did this. I am scheduled for further diagnostic tests and surgical removal of "nodule" at the end of November. I will cooperate and provide info to any litigation against makers of lisinopril.
Cancerstrikes2 - Mnewby, pls if you have hoarseness along with cough ask your doctor to have a CT-scan on your LUNG. You might have Lung Cancer.
Cancerstrikes2 - Everyone pls contact FDA to report your symptoms. Without report to FDA for investigation, the case wont be heard.

Drythroatwithdrycough - I would join the battle to fight against Lisinopril. The dry throat and cough drove me crazy! It never went away until I stop taking the medication.
Sampsonsmom - Class Action Suit.
Has anyone been able to find a lawyer to start a class action suit? Let me know I am definately in. My email is lindapolk@hotmail.com
Johnleger - I have a constant ringing in my head after about a week of use. It's been a constant frequency that is very difficult to live with. It affects my concentration and sleep pattern every day. I absolutely know that it's the Lisinipril. I'm in.
Milehi07 - I will report my issues tonight. Since Thanksgiving I have had serious coughing fits, respirtory problems. End of December they said I had bronchitis. I have had bronchitis and that was not how I was feeling. Finally on my 3rd visit this month after having to do a CT scan, Xray all show my lungs normal my Dr figured out it was the Linsopril and took me off it. I have missed a lot of time at work because they think I am sick and keep sending me home, my home life can't sleep in bed with my wife because of the coughing fits. so I will report. I see a lot more people I can relate to than I thought you would find for a side effect or allergy of a medication
Triumph - My husband has stage 4 kidney disease from this drug...biopsey confirmed. His life is ruined from this evil drug and shame on his Doctors for not taking him off it .They never want to blame the medication! They would not take him off it so we had to make that decision but it was already too late and he needed emergency dialysis. I blame the drug and his Doctors for the horrible condition he is now in.He was a prefectly healthy 40 year old when all this happened.Life will never be the same.I wish all he had was a cough...
Stormiskye - I have other posts about Lisinopril. I am looking for a lawyer to handle damages done to me by this drug!! stormiskye@comcast.net
Sampsonsmom - I have called the company that manufactures lisinopril and reported an adverse event. By law they have to document your complaint and report it to FDA. I also requested a response to their investigation into these horrible side effects of this drug. That was over a month ago and I have heard nothing. I am going to start looking for a lawyer that will take my case against this company (Lupin Pharma) if it is the last thing I ever do. I am so angry. This drug has ruined my life. I have had very few hours sleep in the last two weeks due to this debilitating noise in my head. It never stops. I am unable to function normally at this point. I just want this to stop so I can get my life back but in the mean time I am going to do everything I can to get this drug off the market. I am horrified to learn that people have been complaining about this drug for years and it is still being prescribed. I am mad as hell about it!
Stormiskye - I tried posting a link but this web site will not let me so visit the FDA web site to view their findings on Lisinopril and report adverse reacting. They list cough but they do not tell you how severe this cough cand get. For me it was debilitating!
Babyjewel - February 3, 2012, 7:15p.m. VC.
Hey people,
Day before yesterday was the last time I took Lisinopril. My first dosage was taken in December of last year, and I've paid the price for it. I'm a professional singer, and two
weeks after the first dosage, I was barely able to clear my throat. Shortly after that I began having chills and fever, for no apparent reason. My eyes became blood shot,
and I became easily distracted. In January, my left knee was swollen at least four times its' normal size, and I was admitted in the hospital, where they drained my knee of some yellow content. 'IT DID NO GOOD!! I was then seen by a specialist in the hospital, who drained it again, it worked, but the pain was so horrific.I started to slap her!! A week later it began swelling again this time with tingling, coughing and a severe sore throat. The night before I was going to the hospital for my knee, I woke up at 2:30 am. with the left side of my face swollen so badly I couldn't close my mouth, and I began spitting up blood. Even at the hospital, my lips continued swelling. After hours at the hospital, and tests, questions, and an EKG., I was given another medication, which is working at the present time. I'm now waiting for the swelling of both my knees and face to return to its' regular size. People need to be held accountable, "SOON." LIKE NOW!!!!! This Lisinopril is toxic, and someone knows it. Was it approved by the FDA?
Jangele - jangele- for the beggining of the month i have been experiencing urinating frequency. blood and urine test came out negative for everything.. Right now feb 4 2012 i am trying to flush down this god forsaken med by drinking a lot of cranberry and water. hoping the frequncy would continue to stop. I am day 6 without the meds and switched to cozaar. I suddenly saw improvement the 2nd day off it with my leg not having such a tingling feeling. but this morning it came back again (feb 3 2012) i hope you all feel good and i hope this medication gets sued and not be prescribed to anyone!
Jangele - forgot to mention i've been on it for 2 1/2 years and symptoms came out of nowhere. haven't been getting much sleep this month. I'm feeling horrible but glad i got my doctor to get me out of this medication. I'm too young to be feeling like this.
Wordetone - I was prescribed and took this drug from Nov 15 2011 to Jan 19 2012,when I FINALLY convinced myPCP that it was making me sick. I coughed, had severe diarriah, shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, inability to speak, panic attacks, throat swelling, near fainting, irregular heartbeats, and seere stomach issues. Since Jan 19, I have been inthe ER three times, had countless EKG's, chest -rays,numerous blood tests and a heart cath. Currently am wearing an event monitor, have a pulmanory test sceduled, along with an esophgram and now my stomach is killing me. i have lost several pounds and this has greatly affected my professional and perzonal life. Still afraid of what is to come. Do the side effects ever stop?! I wish this drug had never passed my lips. Clas Action and I am in!!!
Stormiskye - I can not stress enough to everyone to report the side effects to the FDA. I spoke with a lawyer and nobody is going to take a case on against Lisinopril without scientific evidence is what they tell me. The only way to get the suit going, from what I understand, is that we all have to keep reporting what we have been thru to the FDA untl they investigate our claims and report them there is nothing we can do about a law suit. If anyone knows otherwise please inform me but this is what a lawyer told me.

Kzow2000 - I am so glad I came upon this page. I too have had multipliable complaints since started on Lisinopril. I also have the cough and post nasal drip but the worst are the painful red swollen gums with bleeding ulcers. Joint pain with swelling. Have been to a Rheumatologist, my primary and two different dentist.Complied with all recommendations and still plagued with the discomforts. This has been an ongoing battle since March 2011 soon after I started Lisinopril. I am sure this is to source of all my problems. I will be calling my primary in the morning for a change of medication. I am encouraged !!!
Keithwells - .I to took lisinopril which inturn had me hospitalized with a swollen face blood shot eyes and alot of coughing .I also loss time from work
Pamb0916 - I also want in. My Dr put me on this poison. I was only on it for 1 week and didnt take anymore of it. In that time I was dizzy, nausea, lightheaded, extremely tired, coughing, heart racing, depressed, I went to ER and they told me I had an allergig re action to this drug and it is still in my body. I called my Dr after being on this for 6 days and she told me that the only thing that lisinopril would do would make me tired. I knew she was lieing because I didnt feel this way until I started taking this poison. I also have a sinus infection now. I am missing work over this. This needs to be taken off the market. So PLEASE if anyone knows who to contact for a suite to be filed my e mail is: pamb0916@aol.com
Mrsromehill - I just quit this medication yesterday after being on it since December 2011. I must admit that it has been the most misurable days I can ever remember. I a soldier that was fit to fight a few months ago, now I am so weak from all the intense coughing that has cased me to vomit and pass out from the deep intensity of the coughing. My entire body is so sore. It has caused bladder problems as well. Thanks to this medication I am a 30 year old who has to wear adult diapers. Nobody wants to be around me. Everyone thinks they will catch the plague from the deepness and frequency of the cough. I spend hundreds of dollars on treatments that failed. If I had only know that it was the medication months ago. I would not wish this medication on anyone. I don't want money from the drug company but I do want this drug to be pulled so nobody else will suffer. Lisinopril is a weapon of mass destruction as far as I am conserned.
Crystalsmith - I will be more than happy to help.....I had taken this drug for less than 2 weeks, had body cramps, muscle pain, headaches, fatigue, dry hacking cough, throat started swelling, my voice started getting raspy until I finally lost my voice, and I still can't talk and I have been off of lisinopril for 4 weeks, and still not feeling much relief except the body cramps and muscle pain isn't AS bad....but still there!!! I think this is a very dangerous drug and everyone should be warned what could happen!!The doctors say that it damaged my larynx and I may not ever get my voice back!! So, If I knew how to start this lawsuit, I would of already done so!!! I think it needs to be pulled from the shelves for good!!!
Bbob73 - Took this pill for several months and immidiatly developed a dry cough that cut my sleep in half. After taking for 3 months my b/p dropped to 90/61 from the usual 130/86, nearly causing me too pass out.
Mdmfstmvr - It has caused GERD, horrible chest pain, and now stage four pancreatic cancer, not to mention devilitating depression and the dreadful cough. This drug is pure poison and MUST be taken off market. My husband is only 46 and was healthy before he took it, just had a little high blood pressure. The last year and a half have been hell because of this medicine. We realized the problems it was causing, got off it, only to be hit with cancer diagnosis. No accident. We are heartbroken.
Simonsenkathy - simonsenkathy@aol.com Like many others here in , I too had an adverse reaction to "Lisinopril" which is classified as an ACE INHIBITOR. I was on this Medication for Two weeks after waking up one night the emotional stress that I suffered from not knowing what was going on... My Tounge was SEVERELY SWOLLEN I woke my Husband who was also in a panic not knowing why. He called 911 and when the Medics even got here you could also tell that they too were in a Panic because this is not something that they have ever seen before.... After a battery of test in the Emergency Room and giving a complete list of the Medications to the attending Doctor.. I was told with 100% certainty that it was the "Lisinopril"
I also have developed a persistant cough and my voice has never been the same since. If we waited any longer I would not be here.

Dont always assume that your doctor knows what he or she is doing.... Does anyone read the side effects of any medication... If you did you probably wouldn't take it.... From the Manufacture who now on the enclosed printout seems to be placing the burden toward the physician "Your doctor has determined the benifits outway the risk" If the risk includes DEATH would you take it??? Or should you look for a natural remedy.
Chadd - Lisinopril and other blood pressure medications are dangerous and totally unnecessary. Several studies have proven that vitamin C will lower high blood pressure safely and naturally. Just do a google search for 'vitamin C reduces high blood pressure' and read the articles. Vitamin C was effective even though the studies used a relatively small dose of only 500 mg per day, much less than the 2 or 3 grams per day recommended by Dr. Linus Pauling for cardiovascular disease. Of course, Big Pharma and organized medicine aren't interested in vitamin C at all because it is cheap, unpatentable, and a big financial threat to their high-profit pharmaceutical drugs. Unfortunately, Big Pharma practically 'owns' the FDA, so I doubt they will ever ban this drug no matter how much damage it inflicts on trusting and unsuspecting patients. Vitamin C is an essential nutrient vitally important for cardiovascular health. I would urge you to read two very informative articles at the website cqs.com. Just do a google search for cqs.com to get to the website, then click on the article Natural Cardiovascular Disease Therapy to read it, then click on Natural Statin Injury Therapy to read it.
Misshimlikecrazy - I would love to join to because it is not safe to take I was taking losinipril and it cause me to miscarriage Oct 17 2011 and my brother had a allergic reaction lastnight causing his face to swell the Dr told him.
Walters - Both my folks suffered kidney damage from this med and my mom had a cough for two years which stopped when she was taken off this med. I also took this med for 4 years and now have concerns myself. Let me know if anything develops here: flashingsteel002@yahoo.com

Lrasal2 - After 3 months of coughing, I now have asthma!! If the lawsuit happens I would like to be a part of it. Lras2448@gmail.com
Rodas02 - You can count me in. I take 40 mg of this medication a day, and been on this meds for @ 4 years. I have discovered adominal pain, hair thining, belly fat, and constant coughing at night. I would love to take myself off this poison but afraid , because family history of blood pressure.
Blb76 - I have been on Lisinopril for over 5 years. Most recently taking 40 mg daily. Experiencing many of same problem. I reduced the dosage weekly to the point I am no longer taking any. Energy level is increasing; vision back aches and leg cramps are still a big problem. Any progress being made on the class action? If not I will be more than happy to get it going.
Castaway - Haven't found an attorney as of yet to take the case. You would think with all the people out there complaining about this drug & those like it & with all the ambulance chasing lawyers out there sueing the "Big Drug Companies", one could find 1 lawyer to take the case. I know the drug companies pay off the FDA so they can get approval on these drugs, but I am not sure if they also pay off attorneys to not sue them. Not sure what the deal is. I may need to go to McDonalds & spill some coffee on myself. If anyone can get a class action lawsuit going, please do so.
John Rush - FROM: JOHN RUSH
Please add me to the list,

Please contact me at my email: hartford59@yahoo.com
Chadd - Since just 1 gram per day of supplemental vitamin C has been proven to reduce high blood pressure safely and naturally, it is a shame so many people have needlessly suffered damage from lisinopril side effects. A major reason why lisinopril causes so many different side effects is because it depletes the body of zinc. Lisinopril is known to rob the body of the essential mineral zinc, and a zinc deficiency can cause a host of other problems, including hair loss, skin disorders, sleep problems, joint pain, and even tinnitus. To correct this deficiency and help alleviate the symptoms, you can take supplemental zinc, and two of the best absorbed forms are zinc gluconate and zinc picolinate. Diuretic drugs like HCTZ also deplete the body of magnesium, and this can cause even more problems because magnesium is critically important for cardiovascular health. Many prescription drugs deplete the body of essential nutrients, and a deficiency of any vitamin or mineral can cause other serious health problems. For more information, just do a google search for 'drug induced nutrient depletion'.
Normaleen - I was prescribed this drug several years ago. When the symptoms started to occur I thought my health was declining, since I was now sixty. I am so happy I found this web site with these side effects. I have been to the ER so many times, they thought I had a mental problem. It was the Lisinopril all along, no one told me!! How can they prescribe a medication that is so dangerous. I am a retired RN and I think this is awful for the medical community to continue to dispense this drug. I had several of the side effects.
Jmsconnolly - Admitted into hospital for severe reaction to Lisinopril - diagnosed with Angioadema; spent 2 days in hosp hoping they didn't have to throw a tube down my throat because tongue so swollen, hard time to breath.
Jmsconnolly - Admitted into hospital for severe reaction to Lisinopril - diagnosed with Angioadema; spent 2 days in hosp hoping they didn't have to throw a tube down my throat because tongue so swollen, hard time to breath. Switched to Metoprolol - all is normal. Count me IN!!
London21 - I was in the hospital for 3 days and spent 5 visits in the emergency room from taking Lisinopril. I had severe intestinal angioedma that was constricting my intestines to the point that no food or liquid could pass. None of the doctors that I saw made a connection with the Lisinopril. I was told that I had Crohns Disease. I underwent many tests, colonoscopys, labwork, CT scans, ultrasounds etc. All of my test results came back negative. I found out that Lisinopril can cause angioedma while studying for Pharmacology in my Nursing Program. I have lost 12 pounds and have not been able to eat any solid food for 6 months now. I stopped Lisinorpil 2 weeks ago and have not thrown up since. Something needs to be done! Please count me in you can contact me at london_teri@hotmail.com
Spycymasala123 - The other thing is the drug is a derivitive of the Brazilian Viper snake, that may have a little to do with it,I mean the allergic affects.look it up Im going all the way checking on cases and attorneys.
Dancourt57 - Dancourt57@gmail.com I started taking Lisinopril 10-12.5 mg, June 6th, i went in for an earache and was told my BP was too high so was put on the med. I am a runner and by Sat., 4 days on the med., I could hardly run and had shortness of breath. I was also put on Avelox for my ear infection. I did not know which drug was messing me up. Also lost 5 lbs., i am 5 ft. tall and already only weighed 104. They took me off the Avelox and kept me on the Lisinopril. I complained again by Friday of the next week when I was running again and was very dizzy and still having trouble with my breathing. (10 days on the med.). They told me not to take it on the weekend and then Monday cut it in half. Had an EKG then stress test and the heart Dr. told me to stop taking it that since all my problems started when I started the Lisinopril, that could be my issue. It's July 15th, been off the Lisinopril since June 26th and still having breathing problems. The Dr does ot think it was the lisinopril and keeps testing me for other things. Any idea on weather I will ever get this out of my system and I am in for any class action suit.
Thanks
Camille
Coyote1952 - It wil take awhile for for the affect of the drug to wear off it almost a month for me!
Lilbray7@yahoo.com - Lilbray7@yahoo.com Please count me in. I had a very bad experience on the week end. Almost died. Please email me
A.st.anthony - a.st.anthony34@gamail.com-I don't know where to begin. I am so moved by coming on this website, I am speechless. In good faith, I believe my doctor put my on Lisinopril due to increasing BP. I have taken 10mg for over 20 plus years.
A few months ago my BP wasn't coming down to what I remember was a reasonable measurement. My doctor increased the dosage to 20 mg. The result, much of the above symptoms and more. I experienced ankles swelling. Then the feet became so swollen, I couldn't walk. My right ring finger has gone sore and numb. I thought I was having heart problems, too with breathing problems, so dizzy, and asked to go back down to 10. The doctor agreed the swelling was due to the increase in dosage. He had me go for blood work that showed all normal. How is that possible when my feet are so swolllen and painful that I can't walk or climb stairs? My bathroom is on the second floor of my home, can you imagine! I told my doctor the quality of my life has decreased extremely. Also, I felt as though there were electrifying bites happening all over my body. And I had the cough and mucos. My thinking, too, was allergies all these many years. Today, I forgot to take the 10 and I had a horrible day with the swelling and body spasms. By evening, though, I was feeling better. I can't take it tomorrow after reading these posts. I don't know what to say to my doctor. I will go to pharmacy supermarkets to check my BP every day and keep a log to show my doctor for my next appointment. I can't go back on this at all. ...I'm praying in gratitude that I have come to this enlightenment of taking myself off of the stuff.
A.st.anthony - I am so grateful for finding this website. I, too, have experienced horrible symptoms. The worse was today helping me to realize I can not stay on this if I want to live! For well over 15 plus years I have been on 10 mg of Lisinopril for BP. During those initial years I developed worsening of allergies and asthma. Thankfully so, these ailments subsided as a result of using theaputic grade YL Essential Oils. The worse days for symptoms occurred in recent weeks. Due to high reading of my BP this year, my doctor, in good faith, increased dosage to 20 mg. I couldn't believe what happened to me with the increase: swelling ankles, feet, legs, cramps in my stomach, dizziness...after only two weeks, the mentioned symptoms increased and the mucus I always had was gagging me with me needing to constantly spit up...the mucus. Today was the worst day of my life...my feet and legs were so swollen, I thought I was going to die. I forgot to take the 10 mg the doctor dropped me back down to. I went back on the 10 three days ago. Even forgetting to take it today, I knew something was terribly wrong with how bad I was feeling. I was so dizzy. By evening I was feeling better and the swelling starting going down. I am not going back on it. Thank you for this website. I'm in for the class action suit.
Anderson1 - I just was recently released from the hospital for being on lisinopril. I had only taken 2 doses and after the second dose. I was throwing up uncontrollably and my tongue and lips were swollen. I was rushed to the emergency room where I was in critical cardiac care for 2 days on a breathing machine. I do not reccomend this medicine to anyone. I was just discharged 2 days ago and I am still short of breath, have annoying cough, and swollen hands. I have not yet returned to work as it is taking a while to recoupe from all of this. I am hands down all for a class action suit!!
Crystal8255 - I too would also like to be apart of this class action lawsuit. I was put on hbp meds 2 months ago the first one wasn't strong enough so they added another medicine and when I went back it still wasn't working so I was put on lisinopril htct and I have been experiencing sever side effects I have passed out twice can't eat can't function bad headache stomach pain really bad nausea and it started when I began taking this medicine and I know I am being poisioned that's what it feels like my dr thinks I need to stay off the internet and off dr shows but I know its this medicine and now to be reading everyone elses nightmare sounds really fimiliar and I am on board crystalmpeeples@yahoo.com. does anyone know how long it takes to get out of your system? I can't wait to get back to normal or some sort of life again:(
Clrf616 - Clrf616 - I have been taking Lisinopril since November of 2008. Immediately I noticed a slight cough which could be controlled with Robitussin and I did not associate it with the Lisinopril at that time. Sweating was also a big side afffect for me along with insomnia and fatigue. In June of 2010 I went on vacation, 2 days before I left I started to get a more persistent cough. It got worse while we were gone. Upon returning I saw my doctor who prescribed an antibiotic and cough medicine. It was still not going away, another round of antibiotics, steriods, inhalers, different cough medication, 3 different allergy medicines. Nothing helped. 2 weeks ago I asked my doctor if it could be related to the lisinopril, she said I had been on it too long for it it affect that way. I reminded her of the slight cough I have had for a long time. She said that the bronchitis I had exacerbated the effects of the lisinopril. I quit taking the lisinopril 2 weeks ago, she switched me to hyzaar. My cough initially got worse, making me think it might not be the lisinopril. I would cough so hard I couldn't catch my breath, could not sleep any longer than an hour at a time. I am now taking Chertussin and it is helping to relieve the secretions in my lungs from the lisinopril. 2 nights ago I finally slept for 3 straight hours. I almost lost my job because the coughing was so bad and I work for a doctor and the patients were complaining because they thought I was contagious. My quality of life went straight down hill not wanting to go any where because the couging fits were embarrassing. I definitely think there should be some action taken. To this day I still have the post nasal drip and my voice has never returned to normal and it is always hard to swallow. CLRF616@aol.com
Bayrobin - I was on lisinopril for seven months and coughed the whole time. I lost a lot of hair and worst of all developed ringing in my ears which continues to this day after stopping the drug 4 months ago. I will be seeing an ENT soon but my regular doctors keeps telling me it isn't from the drug. On the other hand the pharmacist said just the opposite and told me the lisinopril probably built up in my system. She said it would take several days for the ringing to stop but it has been 4 months and I'm still stuck with this ringing. It is very nerve racking to have to listen to this all the time. It is hard to concentrate especially when it is quiet.
Yvettedem - I too would love to join in on this...I started taking Lisinopril in Feb 2011 which at the same time, my regular Dr sent me to a nephrologist which upped the dose from 10 mg to 20 mg my blood pressure dropped so low I thought I was going to die..literally! I called my primary Dr and told her what was going on she replied...get some salt in you NOW...I don't care of u shake a salt shaker on your tongue just get some in you..so I did...within a few min I felt better...I stopped taking it immediately! After going back and forth with blood work coming back bad w/the kidney function, she demanded I take it again...so about 3 months after stopping I started again..meanwhile it says not to take it if you have kidney problems? Anyway within a short period of time, I started sweating no matter where I went..if I was at work w/my fan or in my car w/the a/c I was ok but as soon as I got in a store, it was on..flood waters would start running. I didn't attribute it to the Lisinopril right away...I just dealt with it. August this year, 2012, I was doing some research and found there were a bunch of people having this problem..not just me...so I went to a different doctor who told me to stop taking it for a while and if that was the problem, he would prescribe a different ACE inhibitor. Well, the sweating stopped and some scabs on my elbows are almost gone now....pain in my arms and shoulders still have not stopped though..guess it will take time? Anyway, I have so much I would love to say to an attorney about this! mamasgirl6994@comcast.net

Rmlshopper - I received Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide 20mg/12.5mg for my moderately high blood pressure in August 2012. After reading the side effects I decided not to take the pills. My husband was very concerned about me having a stroke. I agreed to take one pill Sunday night, October 28th before leaving for a business trip. I arrived in the town for my business trip on Monday evening and by midnight I was in ICU at the local hospital. My lip was swelling by the minute. First my upper lips and then the lower lips. Needless to say, I missed the business meeting, because I was in the hospital the entire time. I was discharged from the hospital this afternoon, November 1st. Please count me in.

Ravenv - I'm 18 and was prescribed 10mg Lisinopril. On the third day of taking this medication I started to develop leg cramps and weakness but I just figured it was due to being the first day of school and not walking so much and Florida heat. When I got in the car on my way home my vision started to change and everything was overly bright and illuminated. I got really dizzy to the point that I could only control it if I was laying down. I didn't say anything to anyone though because I thought I was over heated and due to hypoglycemia. I walked in the kitchen to get something to eat and collapsed in the pantry, my blood pressure at that moment was 50/30. My mother rushed me to the hospital I was dizzy and sweating. I was in the hospital for four days trying to get my blood pressure up. It finally went to a normal level on the fourth day. While I was in the hospital I still kept having allergic reactions to the medications; every time I had saline enter my system I would swell up - which shows that the medication had a reaction with my blood stream. I stopped taking the medicine, obviously. I now have residual effects, however, I have heart palpitations and rapid heart beat on occasion and my immune system is weaker.
Ravenv - ^^ Also, my thumbs swelled up and were numb which started around noon while i was in class.
Somona - I am definitely with you. I took lisinopril for 2 days and ended up with a huge top lip. This drug needs to be taken off of the market as soon as possible. My mom & sister was prescribed lisinopril they both suffered with uncontrollable coughing. They did switch the pill though. I am extremely upset with what has happened to me and I feel the company needs to get what they have coming to them
Somona - Another thing is when my mom was on lisinopril her ears were ringing constantly.. She has been off the drug for about 3 r 4 years & occasionally her ears still rings.
