Is there an existing class action suit against any of the makers of lisinopril? If so, I would like to join. My daughter died suddenly 3 days after her dose of lisinopril was raised from 10 mg to 20 mg. Hers also had HCTZ 12.5 mg. She was also on atenolol 50 mg twice daily. She had been having the productive cough so many others have mentioned.
Is there anyone else out there who knows someone who died while taking lisinopril? B.
Nu1needshelp - Lisinopril is a very deadly medication and no one should be taking it. My husband was sent to a heart specialist to have the skip in his hear checked out mind you he had that skip since he was very little and told them that. The doctor gave him this Lisinopril, my husband started having problem right away so he called the doctor and was told that what was happening was side affects and they would go away. The doctor told him that for them to find out what the medicine Lisinopril was going to do for his he had to have it in his system for at least 2 or 3 weeks and not to worry that these side affects would go away. My husband had only been taken Lisinopril for only about 2 weeks when he go so violently ill that he fell in the bathtub the fire department rushed him to the hospitol on July the 12th of 2006. Lisinopril is also a blood thinner and my husband was already taking Atenolol, Asprin and Hydrochlorot my husband passed a way on July 18th 2006. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US BEFORE IT HAPPENS TO YOU OR YOURS
Kmhomee - I had an episode with Lisinopril that caused my head and face to swell & contort grotesquely. Sice then my equilibrium is off and I have bouts with blurred vision, slurred speech, trouble swallowing and excrutiating pain in virtually all off my joints. I never experienced these symtoms before that episode and I'm very afraid. Why are we only sharing our horrors instead of organizing a class action lawsuit in an attempt to be made whole again.

Leeannstairs - I started taking 10 mg of Lisinopril approx 5-6 months ago, I didn't realize that the things that were happening were directly related to this drug until 3 days ago. During the summer I had a lot of swelling and edema of the legs and feet it lasted abt 3 weeks and suddenly just disappeared. My knees began to hurt and to swell, they hurt so bad it has been incredibly painful to walk at all, for months now this has gone on. When I bend my knees you can hear them grinding if your sitting anywhere nearby. My eyesight has been getting progressively worse since starting the Lisinopril and 3 days ago I developed a blind spot in my right eye. It is a large blacked out area in my field of vision. Today I saw the opthamologist and after a very thorough examination she was a bit baffled as to what was causing it as I had no bleeding in the eye and everything looked okay. She has scheduled me for some other tests. I also am extremely tired most of the time.
My husband also went on Lisinopril a few months back (kinda funny that they prescribed the same drug to us both I thought). We go the same office but have totally different doctors, he began having skin issues which we thought started out as poison ivy but not sure at this point. The areas became open and weepy and eventually infected. Antibiotics and prednisone were administered which began to clear things up but then as soon as he stopped taking them it would come back. Small red bumps would appear in different areas of the body. His skin was itchy, he had biopsy done which showed nothing unusual. The dermatologist called it “contact dermatitis” which tells us nothing. Yesterday he had a bright red rash all around his stomach and back.
So between the two of us we have severe knee issues, severe skin issues and severe eye issues. I'm probably forgetting a few too. I am just starting to wrap my mind around this and the more I read the more concerned I become.

Stayhealthy - My doctor decided to up my dose of Lisinopril to 20 mg. I stopped menstruating for 2 months. I decided to stop Lisinopril for 48 hrs, then I immediately started my menstrual cycle.
Boobabyd - I started taking lisinopril hctz in 2006. I have had problems with my lungs every since. It got so bad that I could do my work without almost passing out. I also had chest pains that got so bad I has to see a heart specialist. He said he found nothing but but me on a med for chest pains. I stopped taking lisinopril in 2008 and my lungs are still not right! Making it threw the day is so hard!
Machiko1 - I have been taking lisinopril for a while now . I have noticed some things that have happened. I have not had a period in a long time. ( My doctor assures me that this is not due to menopause. I have severe swelling in my feet and legs. Sometimes they hurt so bad I can barely touch them. I also have pain in almost all of my joints. Especially in my hands and feet. At times the pain brings me to tears. I have been taking 40mg once per day.I have asked about these symptoms and was told that it was not due to the medication. If there is a suit brought , I would definitely like to become involved. As with the gentleman I have had a skip in my heartbeat since I was a child . I am the sole provider for my family. I would hate to end up dying because a "bad" medicine has caused damage to my heart, or some other organs. Willstown - Wow! I am sitting in the ICU with my mother who has a swollen face,extremely swollen lips, a swollen tongue and a breathing tube. The breathing tube was inserted because her throat was closing. If there is a class action, please contact me willstown@aol.com. I will be contacting an attorney asap. Oh, by the way, there is a family down the hall and they are hear for the same reason, a reaction to Lisinopril.
Swboyce - Sorry about your Mom. I just brought my husband home after 3 days in the hospital, similar to the description of your Mom. What is weirder is that there was a patient admitted the next day with same reaction to lisinopril....bad batch(es?). My husband was taking only 2.5mg per day but had been for 3 (?) years. Does it build up ?
The Doctors said this can happen at any time during treatment with these ace inhibitors. VERY SCARY...he perhaps would not be here had I not found him.

Nica - Nica-My mom was in emergency due to the fact she was having a anxiety attack. However her blood pressure was @240, she was giving Lisinopril. The doctors had to do CPR on her because her throat had swollen shut and her airways were blocked. They had to put a tube down her throat so she could get air to her lungs. I believe they kept giving her the Lisinopril because the swelling wasn't reducing as expected because they were giving her steroids for the swelling. Therefore they had to get her off the tube because she had started to get pneumonia. So the surgeon was called to schedule a tracheotomy, that's when they realized angiodema was probably caused by the Lisinopril. It was too late by then she had no choice she had to get the temporary trachea. They stop giving her the Lisinopril and they started seeing the swelling reduce.
Janice Ibrahim - On April 9, 2012, i was rushed to emergency with a swollen toungue. I had no knowledge of any of this until, I was in the step down unit after ICU, which was 10 days later. I was diagnosed with angioedema due to an allergic reaction to Lisinopril.
I had to have an emergency tracheostomy, before i could even go into surgery because my airway closed.
Prior, to April 9th, I had taken Lisinopril for approximately 4 to 5 years with varying symptoms, ie,unexplained swelling of legs and feet, dermitis, episodes of dizziness, and disorientation, including years coughing bouts. The coughing bouts were explained by my asthma /allergy doctor to be a result of my occaisional smoking which, my primary physician agreed. I still after 2,plus weeks have a trach tube and will have it for another 3 to 4 weeks. I have had to return to emergency because of phlegm build up and other issues, I have no energy, i have to have someone with me 24/7, can't walk anywhere, I don't sleep well because i feel like i am suffocating at times. Even in the hospital, the nurses have admitted to having alot of patients coming through lately with the same symptoms. That should be an eye opener to the makers of Lisinopril. How it is not I don't understand. Pharmacies should stop allowing those scripts to be filled
Damgina06 - Regina Parsell- I have been taking 20-12.5 hctz for about 3yrs and my feet hands and face stay swollen. It makes me very drowsy during the day. Lgreen327 - I have been on Lisinopril for 3 weeks. I have experienced the following symptoms. Chest pain, pulsating pain in my head, dificulty breathing, dizziness, and nausea. It wasnt until i spoke with a friend that previously took Lisinopril that i realized that these are side effects from the drug. I mean at times i literally feel like im having a heart attack or stroke. I know Dr.'s perscribe medicine in most cases because the benifits out weigh the side affects...based on the reviews i have read, that is not the case with this medicine..... they need to take this (Lisinokill) off the market.
Deedee1955 - I was diagnosed with hypertension in October 2012 and was prescribed 10mg/s of Lisinopril once a day. I coughed so much I thought my lungs were infected. I was told by the physician and nurse that coughing was a side effect and it would subside in time. Well I did stop coughing after I had a Brain Aneurysm on 12/31/11 and thought it was a awful migraine and stress from the Holidays. after brain surgery and a 12 day stay in ICU , THANK GOD IM STILL ALIVE. AND A HOSPITAL BILL OF 179K THEY NEED TO GET RID OF THIS POISON!!!!!!!!!!
Wife of a Survivor - My Husband just got out of Wellstar Douglas Hospital , He suffered from angiodema from the Lisinopril. terrible cough and last week while sleeping his mouth and face became swollen and his tongue tripled in size I myself rushed him to the hospital and we made it by the grace of GOD Because he could have died in a matter of minutes. In ICU for 4 days on a respirator, I am suing and I need you guys help !!! this drug is awe full and it must be taken off the market: sherylchildress@att.net lets get busy and file because I am gonna get mine: I am not going stand back and let this keep happening!
Shake22 - I was put on this poison in Februaryy of 2010. I started haviing trouble with my feet. It hurt to walk acroos the floor after i would get out of bed. It messed up my sinuses caused mucous to drain down my throat and it aggravated my asthma to the point that I would and still do use my inhaler three times a day. I was taken off of this mess once i complained in March of this year The symptoms eased up but are back so its ongoing side affects. I would love to file a class action lawsuit. Castaway - I been OFF this drug since May 31, 2012. Was on it for 4+ years & I guess it damaged me pretty good. Still having bad side effects. Numb on entire left side, headaches, chest pain, hard to breath, joint pain etc, & not a single Class Action Lawsuit out there & cant find a single Ambulance Chasing Panty Waste Lawyer anywhere to start a case against the makers of this poison. Guess I need to spill some coffee on myself in order to get any justice in this country. Well, hopefully after I am dead from this drug, which from all indications appears to be pretty soon, maybe my son will have better luck sueing the SOB's that created Lisinopril. Pray. Thats the only hope we have.
Vickit - I just got out of the hospital today for an allergic reaction to Lisinopril, its called Angioedema. I woke up with my bottom lip swelling and before I knew it, it had spread to my face then into my throat. My airway was closing. Thought I would go to the ER, get a shot and come home. That's not the way it happened. Got to ER, they immediately saw me and started me on Steroids and benedryl. Then told me they were admitting me to the ICU and I could possibly have to have a breathing tube put in or worst case have a tracheotomy if my air passage became completely blocked. Thank God, I was blessed and it didnt have to come to that. But as I am reading all of the blogs out there, I have been the lucky one. The only side effect I was told about was the coughing, but I haven't experienced that one. About 10 months ago I was having severe chest pains, felt like an elephant sitting on my chest and I just wanted to rip my chest open to get some relief. I went to a cardiologist and had several tests done and my heart checked out fine. This is another side effect I am learning. I have been extremely tired in the evenings when I get home from work. I'm having joint pains, my feet go numb and tingle and sometimes hurt when I walk. I am learning these are also some of the effects of this drug. I am a 48 year old white female that is in pretty good health with the exception of high blood pressure. Love to exercise and be active. I have been taking it for about 2 years, but these symptoms only started about a little over a year ago. My husband is, or should I say now ,was taking it and has been extremely exhausted in the evenings and headaches. A good friend of mine is on it and has been in the hospital several times over the past few months with Kidney problems.
Someone needs to hold the manufacturer of this drug, MERCK, responsible for the distribution of this deadly drug. And as I have been reading, it is definitely a DEADLY drug. Why is there not a Class Action Suit out there? I'm really surprised. You see them for all kinds of things, why not this? Can anyone explain. I'm not one that is sue happy, but something has to be done so others don't have to experience what we are all experiencing. Any ideas????????????
Wandajg - wow..........i'm just figuring out how bad this venom really is. they all said it was harmless...but i coughed imediately when beginning it, feel like there is molasses in my veins when exercising now, so tired so much, weird skin thing popped out on my hip for no known reason, and today, i could barely walk because my knee hurt excruciatingly bad!
Dianaf831 - I have not had many of these reactions; however, I am having horrible right arm pain, pounding headache and cough. I have just assumed that the headache is due to the cough. I took 20mg of Lisinopril a day for 6 weeks when the cough began. I had read about the side effects and immd. quit taking it. I have been off of this dreadful drug for 1 week and I cough sso much that it feels like my head could split. I'm not sleeping at night, I have fits of coughing so bad that I am pretty much incontinent...I'm only 48!!!!! I can not even go down the road to the store without going into fits of coughing. I almost wrecked my vehicle due to the extreme coughing. So, I simply do not leave my house, I can't talk on the phone either. It has become increasingly difficult to keep food down as I cough so much I vomit. Today my right arm hurts like it is in a vise......What is going on????? Is there any relief insight? Does anyone know what I can do? Will this ever stop? I have no life all because of this medicine.
