My endocrinologist put me on Lipitor about 2 years ago. Three months ago, I began to experience severe leg pain, partly in the muscles of the calf and thigh, but mostly in the knees. My wife discovered web traffic like this on the side effects of statins, and convinced me to quit Lipitor. I've been off for about 3 weeks, and the leg pains continue, although less severe. A lot of comments on this forum indicate how cholesterol reduction can be accomplished without statins -- my question is -- what can I do to recover from statins? I need my legs back for exercise, or my diabetes control will suffer.
