Do all of you who are registering the complaints with the statiin drugs take CoQ1o as a supplement WITH the statin drugs?
I have been taking Lipitor for four years and have had no ILL effects. I had a carotid artery cleaned out four years ago and was placed on Lipitor to bring down my LDL (which was very high--causing the blockage) and to keep my arteries from further clogging, if possible.
Only within the last year, I would say, have I come to "wonder" if my joint pain is, in fact, associated with Lipitor.
I tried VIOXX for the joint pain, and it made me swell up all over, so can't do that! I feel that it is arthritis, buI am not sure. I am, afterall, 69 and my family is very laden with arthritis, so I think I am probably just "in line" for yet another inherited malady.
I am so afraid to stop the Lipitor, for fear that the clogged arteries will again send me to the operating rooom, and I don't know if I could manage another artery operation.
I suppose I wrote to see if you all were taking the CoQ10 supplement along with the statin drug----when you did take the statin. From what I have researched, I really think it is a good idea to do so. AND, I wonder if the side effects would've been less pronounced if you HAD been supplementing with this?
