I have been taking Lipitor for about three years now and have only just begun to connect the dots of my symptoms. I have had increasing severity of lower back and upper arm pain, to the point of where I cannot reach about my shoulders without noticing a total lack of strength. As well, if I am working in the garden or doing anything on my hands and knees my lower back muscles are so weak and sore that I have to frequently sit back to let them recover. I also have noticed a loss of mental clarity, such as forgetting simple words and names of people I have known for years. The worst, though, is the extreme fatigue that has now gotten so bad that I have to take naps every day for two to four hours - and I am only 50! ... more »

After reading all these posts, though, I think I will start taking vitamin C, as recommended on some sites in order to keep the cholesterol in check, and dump the Lipitor. I hope it's not too late to avoid lasting damage.
