I am 34 years old. Since the birth of my daughter two years ago I knew something was not right. My hair started falling out, my joints ached, I developed mysterious rashes, then increasingly, I became so fatigued I could barely function with routine, day-to-day tasks. I also put on A LOT of weight but could not lose it no matter what I did. Also, my memory started to fail and I was in a constant fog. When I addressed these things with pcp and ob/gyn, they both gave me antidepressants and sent me on my way. Eventually, I saw an endo and lab tests showed that I am hypo. I am now taking 50 mcg. of Levoxyl. My endo. is also treating my adrenal health as well as vitamin and mineral defficiency. I know everyone is different but PLEASE ask to have your cortisol levels, your iron, your vitamin D and other vitamin and mineral levels checked. Adrenal health and thyroid disorders seem to go hand in hand. Please don't just rely on meds like Levoxyl to feel better - take a closer look at the WHOLE picture! In addition to Levoxyl, I take Adrenal support, iron, vit. D, and fish oil. WHAT A DIFFERENCE (especially the Adrenal Support!). Hope this helps!!
