This is an update and hopefully this will offer hope to those poisoned by Levaquin. After 8 months of exhausting every test for cancer, gall bladder disease, gastritis, auto-immune disease, ibs, and more; there may be an end in sight for the suffering. I kept seeing two words pop up whenever I researched how to get a handle on what was going on with my body after Levaquin. The two words are l-glutamine and n-acetyl glucosamine. These two amino acids are beginning to turn everything around to the positive. I urge everyone to research these amino acids because they are responsible for so many things at the cellular level. I ended up with no mucos or villi in my intestines and they are being restored. I have seen a noticeable difference in just 1 week. Please feel free to email me if you want to talk about this. Khouli - Thanks for the advise, I will give it a shot. I have been suffering from Levaquin side effects for a year. It seems like this nightmare has no end. Honestly I am very tired.

Lenndrank - I am taking 10,000 to 15,000mg of L-glutamine and 15,000mg of n-acetyl glucosame daily to help rebuild the intestinal lining. I am sure it is best to consult someone as to how much to take for each individual. I seem to have developed a dairy allergy also as of lately. We shall see........I read that many people develop food allergys after taking Levaquin. I wonder if we will all suffer the consequences for the rest of our lives. Most frustrating is that doctors don't listen and don't believe what we are telling them.

Lwesthoff - I was put on levaquin for bact. pneomonia last week, first few days ok, then have had aq numb/cool like feeling in the back of my head. some headache but more just weird feeling and very tired. I didn't see these listed as side effects of the drug. I am done with my 7 days and I hope that this goes away! has anyone else had this side effect?

Lenndrank - Please also consider possible food sensitivities that you never experienced before. I have read that Levaquin can cause these new sensitivities or allergies to different foods. Sometimes food allergy symptoms don't seem related to what is going on. I am getting tested for food allergies this coming week because peanuts and walnuts all of a sudden act like the enemy. I am at least having more good days during the week than bad now. I hope everyone is experiencing the same.

Willnerin - Six years ago I was put on Levaquin to save me from E-coli. While I did not die, I did suffer for 6 years with severe food allergies. I slowly became allergic to all foods (including all meats) except the foods included on and elimination diet. I did recover but it was painfully this for 6 years and the thing that turned it around was eating all natural greek yogurt. Months of eating the good flora yogurt helped by devastated GI system and I have returned to eating all foods. NOT Yoplait or sugared commercial yogurt. That stuff is basically garbage marketed to be healthy. NO sugar, NO aspartame, just cultured milk yogurt. Chobani and Vaskos are the best. I survived, you can too. Good luck.
