I’ve been on Lantus and Novolog since Dec. 2008. Since that time I have experienced the following symptoms whenever I take either if these insulins: dizziness, nausea, tightening sensation in my throat, and burning/stinging sensation in my legs, feet, and back. I also have general weakness, digestion problems, and eosinophilia, which my hematologist believes are caused by an allergic reaction—most likely to GMO (synthetic) insulins. I have type 1 diabetes, so I am going to have to import some animal insulin from Great Britain. It will be expensive and involve some paperwork, but animal insulins for human use, of course, are no longer sold in the USA.
