Posted over a year ago
omg since taking Lamictal my legs hurt so bad and my feet hurt so bad..just to stand on my feet to walk is so painful. I tried skipping a day and the pain goes away then took it again and the pain starts all over again. I guess I will call the doctor in the morning. Suffering in PA.
Smacky - Hi sufferinginpa, I have been on Lamictal for about 5 years now and have had VERY minimal side effects, but in the last 2 months I have noticed the soles of my feet and inside of my hands (especially the fingertips) burning so much!! It hurts to walk on anything like carpet, it hurts to type or anything. Other areas of my skin hurt too but not as bad as my feet and hands. In the last week during the night I will get really bad tingling up my legs and then they will burn really bad. Are you still on Lamictal? How is the pain in your feet now? Please reply. I am taking Lamictal for epilepsy and I really don't want to switch to another drug if I don't have to.
Sunfisher13 - i had the aches and weakness for a while, too (about 2 - 4 weeks), but my pain eventually went away. it was while i was titrating up to 200 mg (which is my steady dosage). so far, i've only been on lamictal for 5 months, with a little under 4 months steady at 200 mg. i took naproxen to help with the pain. it seemed to work a bit. you had to take it steady, though, just like lamictal. every 12 hours.
