I cannot express in words my hatred towards kenalog and my disgust to the doctors and nurses who without any warning unleash it on unsuspecting patients. Kenalog causes disfiguring and distorted pitting and sucked in areas where it has been injected causing distress and despair to the patient.It sickening beyond words. Patients suffer so needlessly, if only they had been warned first. The doctors and nurses who cause this damage are slapdash and thoughtless. It is a blatant lack of care and consideration to vulnerable patients. My warning is KENALOG IS LETHAL IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE MARKET IMMEDIATELY.

Beautyuv4 - i agree after i received this 3 years ago i have had no movement in my left shoulder which had surgery and was in pain hence the kenalog shot,since then i have multible infections,stage 3 kidney diease,the rariest blood infection in the world ( only 60 people have it ending with endocarititis inflamtion of the heart)multiple doctors that cant fix me,lost of job,homelessness,and sereve pain beyond words i just found out i was given this medicine today reading my medical records all of which the doctors failed to tell me the above issues im facing at age 25.if you can tell me anymore info as to what this drug did to you please do!im very sick and want my life back!

Susans - Hi beautyuv4, thankyou so much for your reply. I am so very sorry to read about your dreadful experience with kenalog. The side effects are shocking beyond belief. I just do not understand why this drug is still being used. It caused me disfiguring atrophy around the injection sites along with numbness and pain that has lasted for months and is still continuing. The nurse did not take it seriously when I informed her of this and neither did my GP. They are all for the drugs and dont want to hear a bad word spoke against them even though they cause these horrendous side effects. I am so appreciative for theis web site. It has been a God send. I would have felt very alone without it. We are now wiser about kenalog and its disgusting side effects and I try to make a point of warning others. I sincerely hope that you will feel better soon and make a full recovery. Stay positive, Sue.

Fornareo53 - I too was horrified to see a golf-ball size indentation at the site of one Kenalog injection. I would have never had this if I would have been told of this possible disfigurement. My doctor was sympathetic & has given me 4 injections of saline to help correct the problem, however, see no improvement yet. I'm considering Restalyn or fat injections if this doesn't work, but I hear it's very pricey. We shouldn't have to go through the trouble of correcting a side effect.

Pschulte - I am literally mortifited to read all of these posts about the Kenalog shot! I am experiencing the same issue with a large dent in my right glute muscle following a Kenalog shot. I am very active in the gym and my physical appearance is extremely important to me. When I first noticed the indent, the steroid shot is the first thing that came to my mind, but I had never heard of that happening before, so I thought it might only be a muscle tear or something that would repair itself. But certainly after reading all of these posts and confirming with my Dr. that it was a Kenalog 40mg shot I received in Dec 2010, I am very disheartened and concerned about how much larger this indent could get and what it could still be doing to my muscle AND..how can I fix it. Kenalog has to be held responsible somehow!
