Kenalog-40 Bristol Myers Squibb, Kenalog 40, Bristol Myers Squibb Co, Skin Atrophy, Bursitus
I had Kenalog 40 shots once, one of each side of my hip (bursa) to relieve pain from bursitis. While my pain did subside, after several months, I noticed large round indentations at the injection sites which are sore upon touch. After doing some research, I was informed that this "deformity" was due to "skin atrophy" caused by the Kenalag 40 shots. No one forwarned me about this and I was not given the monograph to ready about any possible side affects. I was only told that I was being given cortisone shots to relieve the pain. I am now very self-conscious and depressed because I look deformed, especially when wearing a bathing suit. I looked into fat transfer to fill in these areas; however, it is unaffordable and not covered by insurance because it is considered to be a "cosmetic" procedure. I am going to contact the company Bristol-Myers, Squibb Co. in an attempt to get them to reimburse me for a fat transfer to correct my deformity caused by their drug. I have filed a consumer complaint with the FDA as I URGE anyone else to do about side affects from this drug. I have been reading many horror stories about it and hope the BAN this drug from being used. ... more »
