New DX Rheumatoid Arthritus & Osteoporosis
My Primary Dr. put me on Tetracycline 50 mg to try to control the flares I'm experiencing with RA, but I was sick in bed three days and didn't realize I was having a flare. Thought I had flu. Saw PA today and she put me on Imuran 50 mgs. 1 daily and Evista 60 mg 1 daily. I will be 66 June 19 and am already dealing with Lupus Anti-Coagulant with thrombosis to my superior vena cava. The clot formed on the end of the catheter that was resting just inside my heart, I now take coumadin according to PT/INR levels, must be watched closely because lately it's either been too low (1.4) or 4.9. Since the diagnosis of the RA it's been all over the place. Mostly if it weren't for supurb pain management control I'd go crazy from the pain. I can't handle any one else's stressors except mine and my kids and grandkids take the opportunity to go crazy. ... more »

Quite frankly I'm afraid to take these new meds because my emotional state is very fragile and it won't take a lot to "crash & burn". I do ok as long as my pain and swelling are under control, but these side effects on the Imuran & Evista scare me to death!
