How Many Have Had Heat Intolerance?
Posted over a year ago
This is NOT a documented side effect, but I now have known two people who have complained about it and managed to narrow it down to this medication.
Please reply if you have experienced notable heat intolerance here.
Thank you.
Sevenofnine - I was never on Hydrochlorothiazide-Lisinopril, but I did have heat intolerance when I was on regular Lisinopril. I thought I'd mention it in case it's the Lisinopril part of the drug that is the culprit.
Boicleflomo - Lisinopril-HCT is the only med I take, and yes--I believe that 'heat intolerance' is a probable side effect...what I consider to be excessive perspiration (whole body) upon mild exertion--walking, etc..
Livinandlovin - I just recently started Lisinopril HCTZ and I am already noticing the heat intolerance and sweating. I thought it was because it's May, warm, and I'm outdoors more, but even with a/c on, I am sweating as though I'd just come in from a run. Last night I had two charley horses (calf cramps) in my right leg. I'm wondering if the diurectic is depleting electrolytes. I don't have s & s of dehydration.
Horsegal - I am on HCTZ to treat kidney stones. I have chronically high calcium loss thru my urine, and HCTZ is known to help. I recently suffered heat stroke while on vacation. I was hiking (a less than 2 mile walk really) and on my second bottle of water when I developed a splitting headache, exhaustion and changes in my mentation. Pretty frightening. Cooling off in the lake, lots of fluids including salt, mg and kcl, and I still was knocked out of action for 3 days. Felt absolutely awful.
