Confusion and Short Term Memory Loss

I couldn't remember a conversation that just took place and would have trouble focusing on the conversation. I actually was driving to work one morning and consciously woke up stopped in the middle of the road and don't know why. I returned home and called my doctor who sent me to emergency room as I had previously experienced heart palpitations as well. I was telling my wife and the doctors of the short term memory issue and I was having a hard time putting my thoughts into words. This caused me issues in my job as well which has me on final step counseling. I was unable to understand or tell my boss why I was doing what I was doing as I didn't know why and I couldn't think clearly enough to defend myself. I didn't know the Patch was causing these things in my behavior. I have since been taken off and put on Percocet and am doing much better.
