Effects of Taking Too High a Dose of Erythromycin

can you have long term effects from taking too much erythromycin over a period of time at quite high doses - i.e is there any experience of people continuing to have stomach problems after they have stopped taking the drug - but having taken the drug for a long time at high doses?
