Doxycycline Hyclate Anxiety Panic Attacks, Lyme Bacteria, Severe Anxiety, Lyme Disease, Peaople
I recently took Doxycycline for 14 days for Lyme disease. After about the first week, my bad headaches returned, along with bright spots in my vision and also anxiety. The day after I finished the meds, I started having severe anxiety, panic attacks, shakiness and very foggy thinking. I did some research and discovered it is not caused by the Doxycycline, but rather an after effect of the Lyme bacteria dying off from the meds. A lot of people don't realize this and think it's fom the Doxy, but it's actually just a sign (tho a VERY unpleasant one!) That it's doing it's job. Apparently when the Lyme bacteria dies, it it gives off a toxin which is what actually causes this reaction. The bacteria is obviously everywhere throughout your body so it can effect all your systems, and that's why you feel like that. It's called "herxing". If you do a search about it, there is tons of info out there about it. Shame on the doctors for not warning their patients about this. It can be very terrifying if you don't expect this and it suddenly starts happening. ... more »

I finished my meds a week ago yesterday, and the symptoms have eased up quite a bit. For anyone going through this, hang in there! The meds are doing their job, and you won't feel like this forever!
