I am a 40 year old healthy female. I am not overweight, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I have not been on any recent plane trips. I am a 40 year old healthy female. I am not overweight, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I have not been on any recent plane trips. The only difference is that I recently started taking Cryselle to regulate my period. I only took it for 6 weeks when I ended up in the ER because I couldn't breath and my heart was racing.
After getting a CT chest scan, the doctors discovered several large blood clots in my lungs. The right ventricle of my heart was also damaged from trying so hard to pump blood into my blocked lungs. The doctors were afraid that my heart was going to stop. I was in the ICU for 5 days. I still have a long recovery ahead of me and will have to take blood thinners for the rest of my life.
Cgarcia76 - I am in the same situation. I also was diagnosed with PE due to taking cryselle.. i am also on blood thinners. Now what we need to do is find an attorney who is actually helping people like us with a lawsuit like they are with Yaz and Yazmin. I think regardless of what name brand we are using for the pills should still matter in regards to this.
Worriedmomma2 - My daughter is 19 and took Cryselle for 2 months. She was very healthy but developed extensive bloodclots in her leg and has many small clots in both lungs. She is on bloodthinner and had to drop out of college this semester. She has no other health problems, is not overweight, does not smoke, no injuries or long trips taken.
Lisav10001 - I've been out of the hospital for a month now... and am slowly starting to feel better. I still have a fast heartbeat, some difficulty breathing, and get tired easily -- not to mention anxiety at the thought of ever having this happen again.
Worriedmomma -- did they do genetic tests to determine if your daughter has a blood clotting disorder? The doctors did this for me and it came back positive. I wish I would have known this before taking birth control pills!!! Because of the genetic disorder, I will have to take blood thinners forever.
I hope your daughter recovers quickly. It sure is a scary thing to go through. :/
Cgarcia -- The thought of a lawsuit definitely crossed my mind, but I haven't looked into it at all.
Cgarcia76 - Worriedmomma2 and Lisav10001... I want to hear more of your stories. People are getting compensated for this problem from attorneys but they are not looking for cryselle and i have had no luck.. I recently began taking Cryselle about 2 months ago. I took the Lo/Ovral for almost six months with no symptoms. However, one day I went to the pharmacy to pick up my new set of pills and they handed me Cryselle. I asked what the difference was and they told me nothing, it's the same just generic.
Now I am developing symptoms of nausea without throwing up, headaches, heavy vaginal bleeding between periods, abdominal pain, and more. To be honest ,I have an existing condition which is HPV. So automatically anything going on with me I usually blame on that but I am worried; it feels like something else attacking me because I am quite used to coping with HPV and this... is not the same.
I have been waiting patiently for the results of paps and the usual tests that go along with it. But this evening I was watching tv and saw the recall they had for Yaz and Yazmin. People have been developing diseases, going to hospitals, and having their whole lives turned upside down. Then I began thinking... I took this birth control pill from a pharmacist just like any other woman who gladly put her Yazmin refill in her purse. That reality crashed on me like unwanted bricks and lead me straight to the internet to educate myself.
Apparently most of my symptoms are also common high/low risk symptoms developed from taking CRYSELLE. I cannot say for sure that this pill is effecting me but after my research and feedback from this site (and many like it) I am really beginning to think this pill is what is causing everything going on with me. I am working on consulting my doctor about looking at this pill for the issues instead of my HPV, maybe it will help the awareness of this bad drug [if a doctor finds it is in fact the pill causing my symptoms.].
Any information you read on cryselle will tell you that it contains a combination of female hormones that prevent ovulation NOT TO MENTION also causes changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining. When you contract the virus HPV it also changes your cervix and there are mutating cells all the time. In fact, these cells are known to develop into cancer.
It seems really weird to me that my doctor would okay the pharmacist to give me this pill knowing my cervix already has a lot going on and I do not need a n y t h i n g changing my cervical a n y t h i n g. It also seemed weird that I got no warning from my doctor about the pill change I found out by a pharmacist when going for a refill. I also cannot find anywhere a date for when it was produced/created. I even tried to just get an estimate by finding out how long it has been on the market, nothing. I have a feeling this pill is fairly new [FDA approved or not, FDA is like everyone else they'll give an okay as long as there's a cut]. No one can even know the long term effects of this pill, not to mention, if it is changing cervical mucus [not very natural--given we already threw natural out the window in looking for pills but still, we wanted 'safe' ones.] who is to say what else it is changing permanently, maybe the change IS damage. No one has shown me legit test results of any kind for this pill... like I said I cannot even find a production date.
Something is very weird about this pill....other then the fact that it is most likely not a 'healthy drug'.
Well that is my story. I wish all of you the best with the trouble this pill has caused you and I will pray for you/your families. Pray that this pill causes me no damage or [with it's mutating properties] doesn't help my HPV along with giving me cancer quicker. I hope this drug does not destroy many lives like Yazmin before coming to surface.
A word of advice though... do not put ANYTHING in your body until you thoroughly research it. All the people who took any bad drug you see lawsuits on Tv about were just like us.. they trusted their doctors, their pharmacists, and popped a pill everyday without knowing that simple mistake of misplaced trust would get them/us put into the hospitals, living with a life long diseases, or death.

Cgarcia76 - Ladies... I hope you read my reply really soon.. I have been in contact with a lawyer about filing a lawsuit against this drug. Cryselle.. He is doing everything in his power to help. I have forward him all of your comments about this and asked me if you ladies needed counsel and Im here to tell you we need to do something bout this. He said we all have a good case ... Cgarcia76 - Hello.. ladies.. is there anyway we can find more women taking cryselle that have been affected by this drug in order for this lawyer to take into action and looking into this pharmaceutical company? There has to be hundreds of women affected by this but for the attorney i am working with ... in order for him to actually look into it.. we have to have at least 10-20 women with this issue .. we need list of names and injuries so we can get this started. Firechik259 - I had started taking cryselle approximately 5 months ago for an extremely heavy period. This past monday I was at work and my left arm swelled up, it looked like I had to golf balls in my arm. I went to the er, sat there for 4 hours, but that is another story. They finally ordered an ultrasound of my arm. The doctor immediately came over and said you have a DVT in your arm and we need to admit you right away. I was started on Lovenox injections twice a day and coumadin. I am a healthy person, a little overweight, non smoker. I now have so many dr's to go to, I am going to a hematoligist just to make sure it is not a genetic disorder, but I highly doubt it.
