Just had my second shot of cortisone in each knee yesterday. I had the shots 3 months ago and they worked for the arthritis. Both of my knees were full of water, which had to be drained the first time. I had forgotten the side effects since the pain relief was remarkable.
I had insomnia last night and still today and the same goes for headache. I forgot about after the first round of shots how bad I felt. The first time, the pain was worse after the shots and I got terrible red/purple blotches and discoloration on the skin of my knees. The discoloration is still there but not as bad. I had red patches which felt like my skin had been burned and it took awhile to go away. But.....the knee pain went away and I was able to make hay in physical therapy. I got my squat back for awhile and could do stairs again. So, I know that for me, if I just hang in there for a couple of days, my body should be feeling better and it will be well worth it.
