After receiving IV compazine in the ER for migraine headache, I had severe depression, angry feeling, agitation, couldn't sit still, couldn't stand still, and felt like I wanted to kill myself. This lasted for about 8 hours. I'd had the same type of reaction when taking Reglan, but it wasn't as severe. When I told my parents about this, they told me that a few years earlier, my father also had a reaction to Reglan, and was so depressed that he was checked into a psychiatric hospital. After the reglan got out of his system, he was totally normal again. When we tell doctors about this side effect, they tell us they've never heard of this side effect with these drugs. I don't know if it's something in our system that can't tolerate these medications, but I've also heard of a few other people who have the same reaction. It's scary, because if I had been alone when I had these side effects, I don't know what might have happened.
