Celexa Pregnancy Category C, Pregnant Woman, Citalopram, Unborn Child, Celexa
Has anyone gotten pregnant while taking Celexa? Will it affect the baby and will I have to stop using Celexa?
Distracted - Celexa (citalopram) is a pregnancy Category C medicine, meaning that it could potentially cause harm to your unborn child. Celexa may be given to a pregnant woman if the healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the pregnant woman outweigh any possible risks to the unborn child. To get the most up to date information call your local pharmacy.
Williamsmummy - I was put on it during my pregnancy and my little boy is perfect! I couldn't feed him myself once he was born but he certainly was fine despite me being on the drug 5 months whilst carrying him.
Familyof5 - my answer would be YES!! The doctors do not want to tell you not safe to stay on. I got pregnant twice while on celexa and lost one at 12 weeks and another at 4 months pregnant..I do believe it was the celexa. I had 3 children before these miscarriages and i was never on anti-depressants while pregant with them...Go figure! if you can go off i would seriously try.
