Is This the Right Medication?

I was given this amitriptyline hydrochloride for my high blood pressure. I have read that some of the side effects of this medication is causing high blood pressure. I have never read anywhere that it should be used to treat hypertension. I am wondering was I prescribed the wrong medication?
