Memory Problems With Long Term Use

I usually take 5 (plus additional 1-3 mg sometimes) about 5 times a week.
I notice that when I read, waiting for it to work, the pages eventually turn yellowish brown and I can no longer make sense of what I am reading. Though, I then go to bed, I worry about long term memory problems with ambien. I've been taking it for several years.
