Hello, All!
I stopped using Advair last month after experiencing too many adverse side effects to list here. Among the worst ones were: loss of voice, muscle aches and stiffness, joint pain, chest pressure, and constant mouth ulcers.
But the absolute worst was the labored breathing it gave me. I had an adverse reaction to Advair. I had my doctor take me off of it and my breathing problems all but subsided.
My doctors now tell me that the reaction to Advair irritated my already existing acid reflux. It got so bad that the highest dose of Prevacid isn't even controlling it now.
The docs explained to me that when you suffer from acid reflux, acid can seep up into the esophagus and irritate the lungs, causing pressure, thereby making asthma symptoms even worse. Now I have to go for an endoscopy to see what damage has been done.
They also informed me that I'm not alone in being unable to tolerate Advair. So if you have similar symptoms, seek your doctor's advice about asking for an alternative.
Glad to be off Advair,
Diana
