Lithium apparently causes organ problems, as well as dehydration, so you should be very careful that you drink alot of fluids, avoid heavy sweating(exercize, saunas, etc.) I had'nt been told that the main ingredent was salt, so thats can be a problem for others as well, ibprofin is BAD while taking lithium, as it raises blood levels. So basically im telling what I had to learn the hard way, so be particular, and aware of what NOT to do wlile taking this pill.although the LISTED side effecs are few, this effective medication can be harmful in many ways, so educate yourself!

I have been on lithium carbonate for 5 monthes. My hair has just started falling out a few weeks ago and I am not happy about this! I am also about 25 pounds overweight. I am very groggy in the morning- I take my pill at night. I am actually quite tired alot of the time, and thirsty but that isn't too bad, I drink alot of water. I went on lithium for bipolar disorder. I don't feel a change with my usual moods due to life, stress etc, but I am not manic.
