Femcon FE and hot flashes

Okay , so I poste on 10/25 some of my symptoms. I started off well but did not maintain that way. It hit me on Friday like a ton of bricks. Nausea, Mood swings, Hot Flashes, Stomach Pain. Insomnia, Dizziness, and back pain. I decided on Monday to discontinue the medication and call the doctor. She absolutely said to STOP it. I have been off for 2 days and I noticed within 24 hours I was able to walk around and complete some of my daily tasks. Still having Nausea, but most all I feel like my stomach right under my rib cage at the top is Bloated!! The palpitations were too nerve wrecking. I am wondering if I really messed myself up. Still have back pain but to add insult to injury. I am now Bleeding SO HEAVY, that it is really concerning me. I would never recommend the meds to anyone, I know everyone is different but , I truly felt that Death was warming over. I am usually the one who doesn't suffer from side effects of MEDS. Go Figure!! This forum is great and I was really surprised that people were actually having the same symptoms and posting them for others to read and relate to. I never thought I would find a forum about the meds that "I " was taking. Glad I stumbled upon this. Just be very cautious of your symptoms, only you know yourself and how you feel. well i've been reading all the replies on FemconFE and to be honest i have a lot of these symptoms that i have never experienced before. well it started a weeks ago that i started noticing bad symptoms. i've been on femcon for a month and a week and i have mood swings,insomnia,hot flashes,dizziness, nausea, severe stomach pain, and worst of all...heart flutters. when i was born i was diagnosed with a heart murmur...well at 8 years old it was lessened to a heart flutter. i haven't had problems with my heart since i was 16. no even the birth of my daughter affected me. but since being on this i can't even drive, clean my house, let alone take care of my 14 weeks old daughter. i'm calling the doctor in a few hours when they open and hopefully he'll take me off of this

Started Femcon on Sunday Evening all was well feeling Great! Went to see my MD yesterday ( Friday) felt okay. Nausea kicked in immediately after appt. Stayed Nausea all day yesterday and today. Yesterday felt flu symptoms ( Weak, Nausea, Stomach Pain, Fever, Hot Flashes, Irritable,Shortness of Breath) I am not sure if this is normal but I will give it until tomorrow if it does not subside I will discontinue.

I took FemCon FE for seven days and experienced a lot of severe side effects which included diarrhea after I eat, foully smell in urine, itching and burning in vagina (like a yeast infection), hearburn, hot flashes, burning feeling in my heart and chest (not the same thing as hearburn), and terrifying anxiety symptoms that consisted of heart palpitations, heart flutters, shortness of breath, numbness in arms, dizziness, join pain, lump in throat, tight chest pains, and insomnia. The anxiety symptoms seemed to be worse at nighttime. I literally felt like I was going to have a heart attack and die. I stopped taking the pill three days ago and I do feel some better, but not completely back to normal yet. I did a lot of praying during this difficult time and God helped me get through it. I know I couldn't have made it without Him. The fear of dying was so intense that I thought my heart was literally going to stop. I almost passed out a few times which is also a scary feeling. My doctor put me on Femcom FE for my hormones, not for birth control, because I had a tubal back in 2002. I would rather put up with my crazy hormones then have the extreme anxiety attacks. The only good thing was my period didn't last as long and was lighter. Now that I have went off of FemCon, I started bleeding again like a normal period. I don't recommend Femcom FE for anyone.

I am on my first week of the second month with femcon, I am undecided about this pill, I used to never get severe headaches, now I am getting about 1 per day. I am nauseated unless I am eating for about 10 hrs after taking the pill. My doc prescribed this pill for me because I was having hot flashes. (i am 25, to soon for hot flashes) I feel like I did when I first starting taking my first pill years ago. Bloating the week before my periods starts, on my old pill the week I was having my period I would have diarrhea when I ate, with this pill it seems to be the week after my period. The nausea is really like it was when I first started on the pill (7 yrs ago). I normally do not have a squeamish stomach but now....I am going to give this pill the 3 months to let my body adjust. Then I may be requesting a new pill. We will see

I am on Femcon right now and today is my fist day of my brown pills. I have been nauseous for the past three weeks consistently. The hot flashes during the night started a few days ago and culminated in sleepless night filled with waves of emotional surges such as fear, sadness, and of course anxiety. My mouth has been dry for the past couple weeks. I have not gained or lost any weight, but I am also quite careful of what I eat. I have been spotting for the entire month. I would say my energy levels have also decreased and I have been more irritable in general. I will no longer taking Femcon and feel that I have been given a medication that caused my moderate to great difficultly. I am almost tempted to head up a class action law suit, as I have lost sleep, missed work, and struggled with too many issues to just forget about this. If anyone else is interested, please keep posting. I read the Femcon website and I do NOT see any of these side effect listed anywhere. Did I miss something?

my doctor prescribed and recommended femcon for me and I lasted only five days on this pill. yes the enclosed instructions do warn of all the side effects but I had no idea how bad and how fast this pill would affect my body versus the past pills i have been on including loestrin 24 and estrostep. I have been waking up in the middle of night having hot flashes and being completely drenched in sweat which i have never experienced before, nausea all day, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, and complete exhaustion in just five days of this pill! my body is completely screwed up now i started my pack on the first day of my period and now its been two weeks and im still spotting, this scares me to death that a pill can affect my body this way, im seriously considering quitting the pill completely...does anybody ever wonder what these pills are artificially doing to your body, there is nothing natural about it!

I am 17 and was put on birth control to straighten out my long, heavy irregular periods. I started on Loestrin Fe and began to break out and have even heavier periods along with dizziness and hot flashes. My doctor then put me on Femcon Fe because he said I wasn't getting enough hormones and I've been on it for almost a month in a half with severe nausea, leg pains, mood swings, crying spells, headache, bloating, and abdominal pain. My periods used to be pretty bad, but this is much worse then before i started birth control. I know I should wait the three months to let my body adjust, but after all the reviews I've read, I don't think this one is really worth it. My periods are also so light that I don't think I need a pad at all. This is much better than the heavy bleeding I had, but all the side effects have kind of canceled out that one benefit. I really would not recommend this to anyone, and am thinking of asking for a change before the 3 months. If anyone has any suggestions about a good brand for my problem, PLEASE let me know.

I am so glad I found this site, because I thought I was coming down with some rare disease. I went on Femcon because I had been on Yaz and started having serious migraines that kept me in bed for days at a time. I have been on Femcon for two months now and I have had every symptom mentioned here. Here is everything in a nut shell. I have felt extremely deepressed and moody to the point of possibly thinking on seeking help for depression. I am mostly angry and sad. I have experienced problems in the past when I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen of feeling paranoid all the time, this was different. I have cramps not just during my periods, but all the time. I also have had really bad aches and pains all over my body especially in my back and legs, feels like the flu. I have been so tired during the day that I have actually fallen asleep at my desk only to go to bed at night and wake up after only a few hours of sleep. I have been also having hot flashes at night. I have had constant headaches although less severe than when on Yaz. I have been gassy, bloated, nauseated and now have had diarrhea off and on for over a month. I have also noticed having a lot of sinus pain and pressure as well. I have also had spotting on days 12 & 13 but no period when I am supposed to have one. I also had the some fluttering in my chest and my breast are swollen and the nipples darkened. I have completely lost all interest in sex and when I am on the brown pills and feel like having sex, it is like all the moisture has been removed from my entire body and I can't enjoy it. Despite knowing I haven't been having much sex, I think I'm pregnant all the time. I have also gained about ten pounds despite no changes in my diet. I also feel nauseous sometimes after eating lunch especially. I take my pills at night and I don't chew them so I'm not sure if that is the problem or not. I have an appointment to go back to the doctor in a month. I'm thinking of calling her to change before that now that I know my symptoms are not a strange disease, but more than likely a result of the medicine.
