joint, tendon, muscle pain. all over my body.stiffness, muscle weakness, paranoia, emotional outbursts, blistering sunburns, yeast infections, anxiety, numbness, tremors this drug has destroyed my youthful 19 year old body. this crap should be banned it has ruined my life. its been 2 months and all my symptoms still persist with no sign of stopping. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHEMOTHERAPY DRUG IT IS POISON AND SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN OUT TO ANYONE I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN TAKE ANOTHER PILL OF THIS CRAP. STAY AWAY!

On the second and third days of taking oral avelox, I noticed worsening tremors in my hands and numbness in my hands. I stopped taking the drug after the third dose after telling my physician about my side effects.

I was put on Avelox for bronchitis and early signs of pneumonia. I was given 5 pills and told to continue to take them no matter what. That night I took a pill and went to bed. The next evening is when my troubles started. Initially, my left leg went numb. I called an on-call nurse's line to ensure that I was not in immediate danger. The next morning, both of my legs went numb, as did my feet and I experienced tingling in my hands. ER gave me an anti-inflamatory and said I was fine. One day went by with almost no numbness or discomfort. Today (day 4) I went to work, only to begin feeling a numbness in my spine - top to bottom -followed by both legs, feet, shoulders, and face. I had tingling in my hands and in my arms. My ears were extremely hot and itchy, as was my throat and my eyes. This time the ER paid a little more attention, but ruled that I was allergic and told me not to take my (last) pill. After reading all of this, I am praying that such symptoms do subside. I will be reading up on this pill.

I took 15 days of Avelox in March 2004. This was given with Prednisone (Medrol) which enhances the possibility of an ADR. I initially had lower leg and Achilles tendon pain, then sharp wrist pain. Paresthesia soon followed. I called my ENT who told me to quit the medication. Nevertheless, a couple days later, I developed a rash on my palms which looked like allergic vasculitis, and the paresthesia intesified. My GP suspected a drug reaction and performed CPK tests. CPK 3 came back elevated but later returned to normal. A couple weeks later, numbness developed in my toes.

A neurologist has so far diagnosed me with bilateral ulnar neuritis (nerve inflammation in the elbows), carpal tunnel syndrome, and tendinitis. There is also evidence of a peripheral neuropathy. I can no longer exercise, and it hurts to type. My hands are still red and inflammed.

ADRs to this drug are virtually identical to those of Levaquin. the drug is extraordinarily dangerous, and should be reserved for the most aggressive infections.

My sun has suffered from three years of age with stomach pain and discomfort uppon eating he is now 12 years old. We have seen many doctors all of whom are very vague. His blood work consistantly comes back with low amylase and lipase. Yet they dont see any need for further investigation. I have been told he has a sensitive stomach. As a mother I see more. I live with him and see him every day. He eats very little, (i think it still hurts) he says he's not in pain anymore. At nine he was still thr...
