Side effects of Singulair - how long does it take to be rid of them

Posted at 5: 3 PM on Jul 02, 2008 by monstarla, #6628
After reading all the posts, I am somewhat comforted that I am not losing my mind and rather it is likely the Singulair. I only took it for 2 weeks (and it worked like a miracle!) before I started feeling depressed, panic attacks, tightness in chest, etc... I took it for a further week before realizing it might be the problem and stopping it. I have now been off it for 3 days and already notice a huge difference, but am wondering how long it has taken everyone to be completely rid of the side effects? I figure it will take more than 3 days, but hopefully since I was not on it for very long, it won't have done much lasting damage. Also, did anyone else get a feeling of their throat being constricted or having mucous build up that is difficult to swallow? That right now is the most uncomfortable feeling -especially at night. Thank you for your feedback!

It can take 7-14 days to be completely rid of the side effects of stopping the singulair. However each day is better then the previous one....This is how is was for my daughter...

Is there anything I should watch for during my son's withdrawal ? Seizures, or depression or extreme fatigue ?
